Hi all,

Are the USCIS service centers assigned based on certain criteria? or just randomly? Thanks

D-L

they are suppose to be determined by location, however I don't think they are, I think they just pull them random and send them out to the service centers, at least you got Potomac

Thanks. I am just tired of waiting lol I miss my wife dearly, and flights have worn me out both financially and physically.

I know how you feel, I am going to be taking my 5th trip back to Egypt soon, and they are expensive, I was unlucky and got NSC and it took 8.5 months for an approval from USCIS, now just waiting for NVC to get it so I can get my case # and start those papers. I am hoping that over the next 4 months he will have his papers for his interview.

Service centers are not supposed to be based on location. USCIS field offices are. Field offices can conduct interviews, so they need to be near the petitioner/applicant. Service centers don't conduct interviews, so there's no benefit to having them located near the petitioner/applicant.

The exact rules for how they determine which service center gets a case is a black box. Supposedly it's based on internal rules to help with their processing load and priorities.

NOA1-NOA2

it takes a combination of 12-14 + months over all and the CR1 is taking 9 months to a year to approve and then about another 4 months at NVC and then to interview

If I understood correctly, it takes around 4 months from NOA2 to the Interview?

some do, it all depends on when NVC gets your case, and if you have your papers and fees all ready to go once you get your case # so that you can upload everything with in days of each other.

I got approved over a week and a half ago, USCIS has yet to send my case to NVC and I was told it could take 3 months for that to happen, now that is not the normal, why they are holding mine is beyond me.
