Hi guys. We recently had the Visa interview and ended up with a 221g because we did not have the W2 required even though I had the tax transcripts. The lady interviewing us said that everything was good and once we emailed the W2 then it would be completed "immediately" (her word). We emailed the W2 as we were told to do within 10 minutes after the interview. It's only been a few days, and our case is listed as administrative processing.

I know that there's horror stories about long delays in Montreal, but I'm curious if anyone has been in this situation where you were requested to email a document,  especially if it was a relatively benign document like a W2, and how long it took for their visa to be approved. I'm just looking for a rough estimate so I can have an idea how to plan. I'm really hoping someone was in my exact situation and it only took a week or so, but I've got a feeling that's just wishful thinking.

Sorry to hear you are in AP. Did they request a W2 as the US citizen had worked in the US the past year? Was it for 1 year or for 3 years?

Just from my observation some people are in AP for a few weeks, others for longer. It might depend on how busy they are.

Yeah. The US Citizen lives in the US and I guess they need the tax transcripts as well as the W2.

Just the last year.

I am surprised as I thought the transcripts would have been enough. Did the USC file their taxes married jointly (not married separately)? Just curious but did you have a confirmation of employment letter and paystubs?

I believe Montreal processes information in the order it's received. It may largely depend on how many files are in AP and how many documents are in front of yours.

Me, too...

Wasn't relevant to them.

I did not have an employment letter and it was not requested or even mentioned. I did have several months of paystubs and the last three years of transcripts, but they didn't care to see them. Only the last year transcript and the W2.
