Hello,

I saw that there is a support forum on abu dhabi consulate delays. I just received my NOA 2 and my case is being transferred from USCIS to NVC. I just got off the phone with NVC and they have no received my case. After seeing that people have been waiting for over 6 months for an interview in Abu Dhabi, I was thinking of requesting for an embassy change. My husband lives in Dubai but he is an Indian citizen. So we could request for Mumbai consulate I guess after we show proof of eligibility. I was just wondering how long this process would take? Has anybody done this before? Is it worth it?

a lot of people have done embassy changes but i cannot recall exactly how long that takes. i think if you catch your case early enough at NVC then a few weeks or so to transfer. if it gets to auh then you have to contact them and ask them to transfer the case to mumbai (who knows how long they act on those requests too).

 

if you know for sure the mumbai embassy gives interviews quicker then i think it will be worth it. it's just a quick flight from dubai to mumbai so that's not gonna be an issue. just make sure that you are not moving from the pan to the fire so to speak in terms of wait times!
