Good day to all the VJers. Today I just got a traffic ticket for not yield pedestrian. I will fight for the ticket. And the court date is April 23rd. However, I will have my N-400 interview on 14th Feb. Should I tell the IO about this ticket? I had one ticketed that I've paid the fine and listed on my N-400 form. I don't know to list this one or not, because this one hasn't been final. Please advice me and thanks in advance.

You must inform them of the new ticket you've received since submitting the N-400.

If you want to fight it then your case probably won't be able to be approved until that process is completed.

When you pay a ticket, you’re pleading guilty to the charge. If you’re fighting this in court, don’t pay, wait for the outcome.

I want to contest this ticket. But I'm afraid this will slow down my N400 process.  N400 is more important to me now.

Faster N-400 or contest the ticket.

Pick one.

In my opinion, there’s nothing you can contest in this ticket. You did not yield to a pedestrian. That’s the end of that. You’re not gonna go to jail for that but you can’t get out of it either. That’s a pretty straight forward case. You didn’t yield. There’s no way around it. Just pay the ticket and move on. One less thing to worry about.

The reason I want to go to the court because I don't want to have a point in my driving record.

Not necessarily... sometimes police offers give erroneous tickets.  I remember my sister got one for not stopping at a stop sign when both she and her passenger were sure she had stopped.  She went to court and because the police officer didn't show up it was dismissed.  So I imagine if OP wants to contest the ticket it's because s/he feels confident that it wasn't accurate.
