Good day everyone! I am under sputum and tomorrow is my eight weeks (56th day). During the pulmonary evaluation the nurse told me to get my results Feb 1 2018. However I'm wondering if it's possible to go to st Luke's like two days early like January 30 2018. My friend who had the same last day of sputum collection (dec 1 2017) will go back on January 30th. I think st Luke's scheduled me for Feb 1 because there's too many people under sputum and they divided us depending how early we came to st Luke's. I would like to go early because I scheduled my interview for Feb 5. Thanks in advance!

Greetings Threa,

I am not so sure if this will help you but, it is related.

GREETINGS!

I HAVE READ THIS LONG TIME AGO AND ANYONE IS WELCOME TO CORRECT IT OR HAVE ANY UPDATES WILL BE APPRECIATED.

1. THE CLINIC WILL SCHEDULE YOU FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS FOR SPUTUM COLLECTION EVERY MORNING( YOU WILL BE GIVEN A PAPER INDICATING AS TO WHEN YOU WILL GO BACK FOR THE PULMONARY EVALUATION.

2. DURING THE PULMONARY EVALUATION, IF YOUR EVALUATION RESULTS SHOWS  POSITIVE RESULTS LIKE SPOT, SCARS OR LINES. YOU WILL HAVE TO UNDERGO THE 8 WEEK CULTURE AND WILL BE GIVEN ANOTHER PAPER INDICATING AS TO WHEN YOU ARE TO SEE THEM FOR THE RESULTS. YOU MAY CALL FIRST PRIOR.(THIS IS ALSO THE TIME WHERE YOU WILL GET THE  3 SMEAR RESULTS)

3. TREATMENTS WILL START, AND OF COURSE, THE RESULT OF THE CULTURE WILL BE USE IN CHOOSING THE TYPE OF ANTIBIOTIC TO BE TAKEN FOR ITS EFFECTIVENESS.

4. AROUND THREE MONTHS, YOU WILL HAVE ANOTHER X-RAY TO EVALUATE LUNG CONDITION.

GOODLUCK,

NELMA

You go back on your scheduled time, unless SLEC calls you to come in earlier.

You should be fine with the medical file reaching USEM for your interview on the 5th.   I have found that because of SPUTUM you will not be hand carrying your medical file to USEM, SLEC will send it by courier.  Still there shouldn't be an issue.
