I've commonly seen the response of "live out their golden years in the US" on here.

If they have gold to go with their golden years, fine.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Good   It will stop a lot of immigration silliness that is going on now.

I agree 100%. No one other than spouses and minor children of a USC should be able to immigrate.  I myself, am a spouse of a USC and I would have preferred to have him move to Canada but, for now that is not possible so, I am here until we can change his situation.

I know what you mean I have talked with some people online about it and I have been called a "racist against brown people" for wanting something done about immigration. I am like "you have seen my profile picture and see that I have 2 mixed race kids right, You have seen where my Filipino wife and my 4 year old have dark brown skin right, you know my daughter and wife gets confused for being a Mexican all the time?" They don't care and still call me a racist to my face.

Posted (edited)

I think the legitimate claims of racism come in when there is a preference for certain types of immigrants based on nationality or residency, skin color, religion, native language, etc., instead of the potential immigrant's contribution (or drain) on the US system.

For example, there's a huge and meaningful difference between saying you want stricter requirements to prevent the occurrence of public funds being used in immigrant families versus, say, remarking that you don't want people from s******* countries.

Exactly. I have been put in the same scenario and called out until I let them know I'm gay and married to an immigrant who's brown. Then all of a sudden they have no response. So, again, it has been taken so far out of context.

Which bill, the new one introduced this month or the raise act? If you listen to podcast that I put a link to in a earlier post then you can hear more about the bill from the author. But who knows as of right now but I can see it at least coming up for a vote from the House of Representatives.

As to this getting passed in it's entirety, probably not likely. When? Who knows, congress can't seem to ever agree on anything especially when some are so hell bent on "resistance".
