Canada stopped it due to the drain on their Health care, not sure what the deal is now.

I just do not understand how the vast majority interested in sponsoring older parents could possibly afford it.

I don't know what the financial requirements are to sponsor parents, but I'd be in support for reevaluating them and increasing it if appropriate. I guess for elderly parents one question would be - Would you make the parent immigrants ineligible for Medicaid? That would certainly increase the financial burden substantially.

The UK increased their financial requirements to immigrate recently (couple of years now?). I know a lot of people were upset but it didn't bother us much. It's not like we want to move to the UK with no job or savings while we are happy here, own a house and I have a good income. That would just be silly. The only way we are moving to the UK would be if one (or both of us) had a job that paid well enough. Just makes sense.

TO illustrate why the current system is bad.    Of the 21 siblings that would be able to come

  1 is a medical doctor

 1 is an electrical engineer

 1 is a dock worker

 1 is a day worker

1 is already an illegal in another country and not working there

1 is a police man but also helps 419 scammers

 1  works for 419 scammers

most of the rest are housewives but because the family was poor they never finished school beyond some grade school so would not be able to find work here and they don't speak English well.

These aren't a group that one could say wouldn't create a drain on the system when they arrive.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

How would one be able to provide affidavit of support for 21 siblings?

If you already know they're scammers and up to no good, why would you sponsor them in the first place?

I had already answered it,  They are siblings so my current right to have them with me overcomes their personal behavior and they have to traceable criminal record.  Do you think others haven't sponsored family members with bad habits ?
