I always post when I'm hurting here in the hopes that someone will have an idea how to help me alleviate the pain... :(

Today when I took Corey on his paper route, my stomach was really hurting. Not sure, actually, if it's my stomach or something else...it's right under my breasts, dead in the middle...a couple of inches down. If I press in on it, it hurts worse. (I know, so don't...right? Heh.) Anyway, I've been in a lot of pain all day today. I've tried to lay down and nap, but it actually woke me up, and it hurt so much I couldn't lay there...had to get up. It comes in waves, the worst bit...it's hurting all the time, but for several seconds at time it feels unbearable, and then it gets "better" again for a few minutes. I feel a bit nauseaus too, but not too bad. I haven't eaten anything today...ugh. I'm hungry, but not sure I could at moment.

:crying: I don't know what to do. Mom wants me to go to after hours, but that's just Mom you know? Craig just cuddles me, he doesn't know what to do. Corey is making supper for me...good kid. I've tried Pepto, and myMom gave me a Prevacid, but it hurts a LOT. I do have acid reflux, but it doesn't usually bother me too too much...just some heartburn sometimes.

I dunno. Any thoughts? I could really use some ideas that would make it feel better....even just for a little while, for a break!!! M.

Okay, well, first of all... requesting medical help on a message board isn't that great of an idea. What works for one person may not work for another and your problem could be very simple or very complex. In addition, it's nearly impossible to diagnose someone without having seen them and no reputable physician would make such an attempt. Finally, whatever medication we may suggest (over-the-counter or prescription) should be taken with a huge grain of salt. After all, you don't really know us and whatever our qualifications may be -- so why trust us with your body and health?

In other words, it sounds like you need to see a gastroenterologist. They can examin you, maybe do a few tests, and hopefully find out the problem. At the very least, they can prescribe something that may work effectively.

I hope the problem isn't serious in nature and that you recover soon. :)

Yeah, what DeadPoolX said. If you're in so much pain that you're having trouble breathing, you need to see a doctor.

You ought to seek some qualified medical advice.

What if its appendicitis?

Doesn't sound like it to me (I'm not a doctor), but it's the sort of thing where the consequences are pretty severe if you don't treat it in time.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I had an acute case of it about 12 years ago, unbearable pain. I was in surgery within hours. Had I not seen a Doctor right away, well, you know...

She says it's right under her breasts and pain from appendicitis is periumbilical...so unless she has really saggy boobies or a really atypical presentation, it probably isn't appendicitis. (F)

To the OP: if you develop right lower quadrant pain or tenderness, get thee to a doctor right away.

I used to get that sort of pain if there was a lot of air pollution that day; usually it went away on its own by the next day.

Seriously, though; if you're in this much pain, just go to the doctor. No point in suffering.

Michelle,

I would definitely go to a doctor, god only knows what could be causing you the pain. Could be your gallbladder or something else. Since your self treatment didnt help, and it woke you from sleep, i would be on my way to the ER. Good Luck! (F)
