I am a US citizen now and I am wondering if anyone had bring their mother/parents to US to be a permanent residence and how long did it take for your parents to get here? And what are the process. I wanted to bring my mother here to be close to couple of her sister that's been here and to me and my family. She did have some error on her Birth cert from NSO and she's been using her fathers last name but not knowing her Birth Cert last name is her mothers last name that's because they weren't married yet when she was still in the womb. I know it's going to be a lot of changes but Any suggestions would appreciate it. Thanks!

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

2 scenarios for timeline. It would take around 1 year max if your parents stay outside the US. I guess around 4- 6 months if the parents are inside the US while processing the paper work.
