Still stuck on security check.

I'm August 3 filer and wondering if any other August filers are on a security check. They told me my case is being adjudicated but on hold for security. But ive heard nothing from other aug filers here. I've been stuck on "security check" since the 8th of Jan and I have no criminal/traffic tickets or anything.

Yep pretty sure they just said whatever. 

 

Its not stuck. They just didn't really started to process August yet. So cases are getting their background checks before the initial processing.

 

they are still doing june and early july cases currently.

They told me they started adjudication. Are you sure cases are having their security check early?

Yep they send cases to get background checks first. It is a part of the adjudication.

 

I really hope they weren't lying this time... was it a tier 1 or tier 2?

Tier 2 supervisor. I spoke w 2 different ones.

Awesome! One more person said a similar thing. I really hope they'll smoothen things up a bit... 

 

i also hope they can finish up june first first because they waited soooo long already  

 

but yeah overall background checks are normal, they usually do it before they start adjudicating a month. So you are on schedule don't worry about it.

I'm worried bc I'm going through an emergency. I've spoken to supervisers and am trying to get my case asap. A supervisor told me they will contact csc to expedite my case. I  don't know if this means it worked or if I'm just on normal processing time... I was also advised to send them a mail explaining my situation and I did. I sent it Friday,  on monday I got the security check response to an older service request. What do you think it means?

Well if they are going to expedite it, then even though you need to wait a little bit, it will be faster for you.

But they still need to finish the security checks to move on. expedite also don't happen suddenly so wait for 2 weeks (thats the usual response time on expedite cases) to see if they accept it, and then it may take still a little while but it at least means they are not going to wait for July to end for your case to start.

The supervizer told me I should have a response as soon as they clear the security. And that I'm no longer on the "wait" list. Here's the message from csc: 

 

Your case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending. We cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of these security checks. 

 

It sounds like they will make a decision and not put us on more hold right? Or am I wishful thinking?

Exactly, then as your case is already expedite, it just needs the security checks to finish. and it is not on uscis, those comes from different agencies, so as soon as they get it back they'll be back to you.

I understand. But for the security checks, even uscis can't do anything till they receive, at least as they've told you, you won't wait after that.

As you mentioned emergency I hope everything is ok with you and your partner, try to stay focused and calm. Just for a little bit more.

No things aren't good to be honest. And im not aure if my case is expedited or this is just normal processing time. I really hope to hear from them soon. I tried to call and ask for an update and they transfered me to tier 2. Currently it says I need to wait 2600 minutes for them to call me back. Is this an error?

I don't understand what is so bad? You applied for K-1 on August 3rd? It hasnt even been 6 months. I've heard stories where it has taken people 1,5 years to get their K1.

Did your fiance apply for your case to be expedited? Under what circumstances?

Do they also do background checks for cr1 applicants before reviewing thier cases too?
