Bank Account and Taxes Problem?

Hi everyone

I came to the US as an F1 student. Got married and now I am a permanent resident and I just also received my SSN.

Since I came to the US, I've had a bank account. It was opened with a passport at the time. I remember also filing a W8 Form.

Ever since I came here I have received money from both my parents who are not in the US. This money was obviously used for living expenses.

I also have a family member here in the US that acted as my sponsor and would give me money in a monthly basis. This was also used for my day to day expenses as well as tuition.

Now here is the question. I just received my SSN. Would there be any problem with the IRS if I link my new SSN to my existing bank account considering I have all this deposits from both family outside and inside the US?

Will the IRS look at all this deposits and tax me on them?

I am not sure if I should simply link my SSN or open a new account

Thanks!

the IRS isn't going to look into your bank account unless they have a reason to Audit you.

All your days with an F visa do not count for the physical presence test, hence you were a nonresident alien for tax purposes, no FBAR required, if that account was foreign.

Gifts are not taxable to the recipients in the US anyways.

I don't see any problem.
