Even if winning the battle  in the Senate happened, there would not be enough votes in the house for DACA. Trump shafted the DACA applicants when he rescinded the executive order and has no plan to keep his word. They are screwed.

The only polls that count this year will happen in November.  The Dems will take the House.

It in fact did happen, and Trump gave Congress a deadline to fix DACA the proper way, some time ago. I love the fact that we now have a President who does what he promised, despite the raving lunatics who daily distort the truth in the Lame Stream News.

The Democratics just got their hat handed to them again.  I predict when are in the end days of that party as we know it.

Keep holding on to that, I admire a man of Faith.

That's a little optimistic...

We shouldn't be so obsessed with "winning" here. The country lost when our government failed to reach an agreement. We continue to lose when the budget becomes a game of "kick the can" a few weeks down the road. Both sides had a duty to compromise. If Republicans didn't hold the required 60 seats, then needed to make some concessions in order to obtain the votes. Democrats also should have expected and known that they couldn't make the decisions themselves, they are the minority and they can't change that.

I'm not impressed by anyone in Government over the last week.

As I said, I think it's reflects a poor quality of character for Republicans to act like this is a "win" (Not talking about you, but about Senators in Congress). We shouldn't have had a government shutdown in the first place, and no single political party is to blame for that. Compromise should have come from both sides.

They all lost this one. I don't think it should reflect well on either party.

Hades has frozen over. How bad does it have to be for CNN to admit it.

That is an opinion piece from a Republican contributor.

I hope you realize "CNN" isn't just one single dude..."Mr. CNN". Contrary to what you hear on these forums they have Republican contributors write opinions quite frequently. Their editorial staff may be left-leaning but they do have contributors from both sides. I'd say they publish at least one for most major "big news" topics. They do tend to be moderate Republicans though, which isn't surprising.

It's a sad day when even the Left leaning Politico is saying that the Dems got rolled on this.

3 more weeks of government then we do this again?  Who got rolled?

In a few weeks the Senate will vote up or down on DACA and it will pass with 60 votes.

I am with you on part of this I am. But I think they will argue  and ultimately we will be at the same place we are now in 3 weeks. But hey I can stand another 2 days off during the week because the President hasn't signed the bill yet so I am still out of work tomorrow it looks like.

Because I think immigration is a fight that will take longer than just 3 weeks because there are some key differences on each side that no one is willing to budge on. I may be wrong on this but it looks like Schumer has showed his hand and proven that he ain't got much to work with at all. So this may mean he may have to capitulate more than what he originally would have if he didn't let the government shutdown.
