Hi,

I have a valid EAD and I already work part-time for a US employer.

Recently my previous employer in Europe contacted me for short-term remote work (for a few months billed by the hour).

- Is my EAD sufficient to accept legally?

- can I still get paid in my home country's account an local currency?

... finally, where am I going to pay my taxes?

Thank you in advance

Is your EAD sufficient to accept work in Europe? That doesn't make sense. If you're from Europe you can still work there with no issues.

You can get paid in whatever currency you want.

You'll have to pay worldwide taxes, so any money made in any country has to be filed for when you do your USA taxes.

Why do you think an EAD basically makes it so you can't work in another country? There's no rules like that and even if there were you aren't even a citizen. Work wherever you want, just pay your taxes!

Maybe I should have indicated that I live in the US under a J-2 visa with my spouse. With that status, I wasn't able to work, until I got the EAD.

I am assuming, based on other threads, that a non-resident alien is not supposed to work at all and that extends to non-US employers when the work is done remotely (ie, on US soil). So I just wanted to make sure that the EAD is sufficient.

Thanks

A non US employer does not need your EAD that is only for US employers. Yes you can work for a your old Employer as long as you meet the requirements for there.
