Getting SSN after EAD

I'm making a new topic for this since none that I've read seem to address the new (ish) version of the i-785. In the example forms none show the new field asking if you want uscis to send your info to SSA on your behalf.

Has anyone else used the new form and asked them to do that?

Did you receive your SSN card without having to do anything extra?

If so, how long after receiving your EAD did it take?

If not, how did you go about getting your SSN?

i forgot i had checked it and went to SS office and they said the number had already been applied for

the SS card came within 3 weeks of his arrival
