My wife just got approved for her CR1 visa, which will be arriving through courier to her apartment within the next 2 weeks! Then she's coming to America. We're pretty clear on everything, but there are 2 things that I was wondering:

It's cheaper to buy a round-trip ticket than a one-way. In fact, it's about $400 cheaper. So, can we buy a round-trip ticket and not use the return, or is that going to cause problems? Of course we'll shell out the additional $ for the one-way if that's the only option, but it would be nice to save some $, especially since she might not be working for a few months.

We got married in Chile, so once she's here do we have to have another civil ceremony, or is our marriage there valid in the U.S. as well? Any advice appreciated.

By the way - we did DCF at the Santiago consulate and I must say that things went really smoothly. Petition was approved on the spot and she had all of her forms and an appointment date for 2 months later by the time we left.

It is really up to you. You can try to look at the best way and see which way is cheaper. I dont hing by getting a round trip ticket that will be a problem.. it is just giving the airline extra money. My fiance now wife came into the country on a one way tikcet.

Nope you dont have to get married again. the United States Goverment reconize your marriage in Chile.

You wont have to do the AOS. Your wife should get her green card within a couple of month. maybe sooner.

I will be entering on a return ticket. It doesn't matter to them either way. Your marrige is recognised and as valid as any in the US, the visa would not have been granted otherwise.
