  Republicans need to learn how to work with people again. Eight years of filibusters and tea party mentality and it looks like they forgot how to do that. The onus is on them to get a deal done. If not, chances are they will bear the brunt of the backlash from this, just like the Democrats did last time.

 

  Non partisan voters are not going to remember the 2 people who didn't cave in. They're going to remember the 58 who couldn't get it done when it was right there in front of them.

Republicans don't have 60 votes and democrats know they can hold the budget hostage to get their way. The bottom line is illegal aliens are a higher priority to them than passing a budget. This is an issue that can be taken up at another time but democrats are choosing to throw a temper tantrum like a misbehaving child until they get their way.

  Yeah like the Republicans did for 8 years. It was understandable for the Republicans to take the ball and go home when they lost. I'm not sure what they hope to accomplish doing that when they win. It's the height of hypocrisy for the Republicans to complain about this tactic no when they used it over and over. They need two Democrats to come to the table, they better figure out a way to go get two Democrats.

You see this is why I love seeing McConnell coming to the Senate floor and complaining about the Democrats filibustering a bill. He and his party did this time and time again for eight years under Obama in record numbers. So I'm glad the turtle is getting a good taste of his own medicine.

What exactly is my party? I'm not a Republican. I'm not a Democrat. I dont vote based on party but rather based on individual issues. Sure some Republicans are dysfunctional. So are some Democrats. Getting back to the issue though it's pretty clear that Democrats are putting illegal aliens (which is an issue that can be taken up at a later time) ahead of passing a budget
