Hello guys, quick update:

Yesterday I got an email letting me know that my EAD is being produced. Yayyyy thanks God, I was jumping up and down like a kid. When I checked online, only the egov case status website updated, nothing on the DHS website. PD Jan8th, it seems they are going thru January at a decent pace seeing updates for other Jan filers.

Then today afternoon around the same time I got another email and text messages that there was an update on my AOS, I checked and my interview has been scheduled, Alleluya! Now time to get ready for it, while waiting for the letter.  Same here, no update on the DHS website but the egov case status did update.

I had some doubts about the I-94 theory, I believe Chicken7585 said something about it, but I believe it now. My I-94 is actually expiring today and they approved my EAD yesterday, I would not have been out of status officially but in a situation with no real status, in a dark hole lol.

To other January filers, yours is coming soon, from the way they work, in the next few weeks I think.

Congrats on the speedy (not really but quick enough) approval!! I wonder if it's because you applied for AP and EAD separately that you got approved fast. I've seen other example while people submitting two separately got it way faster than combo card.

Anyway, my PD is 20 days later than yours and we basically have same timeline for other things. Fingercrossed I will get the combo card in a month!

No hopes for the interview since Houston is taking forever and even if the cases were randomly picked, I wouldn't be lucky enough lol.

There seems to be lots of Raleigh filers on VJ :) we should all hang out as our AOS applocations are pending lol. If you filed in Jan then your EAD is probably going to get approved very soon anyway. Best of luck!

Hehe, Ugh I wish .. I got an RFIE on 2/23 which put me back a few days. I am so mad at it, because all I did was to RESUBMIT the exact same documents I had already sent. Question.. is my new PD now March 8? Did I lose 37 (!) days because of this?!

Thank you guys @kvito28 and @txkangooroo

To tell you the truth I was so mad at myself for not sending the AP application in the 1st place, I was really thinking it was going to take another 4-5 months and the  Baltimore takes 9 to 12 months for interviews so I was pleasantly surprised when I got the mail.

Who knows you might be too. Sending good vibes your way :) hopefully you get EAD and interview scheduled back to back

Concerning the RFIE and if it resets the time I dont think so, they do pause on your file until they get the response, so the faster your respond the better it is or else your file might be forgotten on some pile somewhere. I had one and nothing was done on my file for about 13days, so I would substract the time between them sending the RFIe and the reception of your response from your total number of days.

Had almost exact same timeline as yours haha. Let's wait until next month. I will give them until 6/30 before trying congressman and ombunsman

I've already done both since I need my EAD so badly. I'll be put on bed rest coming June 1 since my current EAD expires on 5/31. USCIS needs a better system. Some cases are processed so much faster than others which makes the whole process just extremely frustrating.

Especially as they are processing cases randomly as I heard. That's why so many cases filed in 2018 were getting interviews and older cases in 2016 and 2017 are still waiting...

It's a miracle!!! I got an email late on Friday night that there's been an update on my I765! My EAD is being produced and sent to me!!! YAY

I have NO clue if this has anything to do with my expedite request. I doubt it as I have yet to hear anything back regarding the evidence I submitted.

I am also in a precarious position and not sure what to do.

I am in NC -but move to Seattle very soon - Officially move there June 25.

I know I have to let USCIS know (I think within 30 days?), but WOULD this delay my, already behind i-765/131 combo card? I know the people moving into our residence, so they could forward it on to me.

*If I was to get an interview* I would ask to re-schedule it in Seattle.

What would you do if you were in my position?

Hello,

Your situation is quite tricky, especially since, in my opinion, you can not rely on the USCIS website processing times anymore and cases are processed in a weird order.

If I were in your shoes, I will look up both processing times and see which one is the shortest, then also look on VJ for threads for each specific office in NC and Seattle and see of there is a big difference. If NC is supposed to be the fastest and you trust the new tenants in your NC residence, I will keep the address in NC, well at least until you get your combo card. If after that you are not in a rush for the interview, you can change it to Seattle and wait for the interview at the new local office.

I have seen people in your situation on VJ that kept their old address with USCIS and flew in for the interview., because moving may delay your case but it has not been proven. Kinda like the whole RFIE that supposedly resets your clock from the beginning.

Good luck, I hope you get your combo card,VERY soon to start being active again.

I read your previous post and saw your current EAD expires in 5/31, maybe that's why they issued you EAD card faster.. (I think they will sort the expiration date on current status when they process the cases.)
