Hi Everyone,

I am from Bangladesh.

My uncle is a US citizen, applied for my father (F4 visa category - Brothers/Sisters of U.S. Citizens and their Spouses & under 21 Children) and my family (my mom me and I have 2 little sisters) in 2003. When he applied I was 10/11 years old.

In 2016 embassy notified us that our case status is current and we have to pay visa fee for further process. When NVC asked us for payment, on the payment list I have found my name but when we have submitted the payment for 5 person (My parents, me n 2 sis) the receipt shows I am not eligible anymore (age 21+). So they took the payment for 4 person only without me.

A few days later we have received our Interview letter and my family member interviewed at Dhaka embassy t the end of 2016. But Dhaka embassy told us our sponsorship is not sufficient, we have to submit a strong sponsorship paper. My father asked about me to the VO and VO took 30 min and get back to my father: Your son beomce 21+. he is no more eligible now. You have to apply for your son.

We have tried to get the sponsorship paper at our earliest but it took 8/9 months to get a sufficient sponsorship and we have found a paper and the paper has been submitted on August 2017.

As our medical and police clearance expired, embassy asked for a new medial report and police clearance and we have submitted it on Nov 2017 and embassy called my family for fingerprint & oath in Jan 2018.

Alhamdulliah!!!! In the 2nd week of Jan '18, my parents and sisters received their visa.

Really it's a long time procedure!!!!! Inshallah, My parents & Sis will be in US within April '18 and after that, my Father will apply for me.

I have one question: What will be the visa category for me and what will be the minimum time duration for getting the interview letter.

your category will be F2B, unmarried child of a legal permanent resident

the wait is over 6 years currently, maybe more in the future. As such, you must remain unmarried until you enter the US, or if after 5 years, your dad becomes a US Citizen. Only citizens can file for married children and the wait is around 13 or 14 years
