I am looking through here trying to find a checklist of each step in a CR1 visa.  Like I-130 is $535.  The visa application fee, etc.  I am trying to create a checklist of the sort to see how much I need to pay out.

Also, I know with a K1 (I-129F), it is just the $535 fee for my fiancee and her son together? Am I correct in this?  Whereas the 130 is $535 for each and I would need to submit once for each?  Her son will be 1 year old at the time that I apply, but less than 2 years.  Her son is biologically hers.  I would be a step parent in this case.

Thanks for any help

CR-1 (spousal) visa guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

  1. USCIS adjudicates the I-130. ETA: ~6-9 months on average
  2. USCIS sends the approved petition to NVC for processing. ETA: ~2-3 months. Wiki: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process
  3. NVC works with the embassy to schedule an interview. ETA: 1-3 months? (varies heavily)

Total: ~12-14 months from filing to interview in most cases. Sometimes sooner, sometimes longer.

Fiancee? Is she your wife or fiancee? Big difference here. Assuming you meant wife...

You would need to file one I-130 for each of them. They can be sent together, but they're still 2 separate sets of forms going for 2 visas.

Fees for each beneficiary:

I-130 fee: $535

NVC fees: $445

Immigrant Fee (paid after visa approval, either before or after POE): $220

Total: $1,200 in fees + variable costs (travel, medical exams, translations, collecting documents, etc.)

Thanks for that information - I greatly appreciate it.

Fiancee currently, but we are getting married in her country later this year.

So, set prices are $2400 total for each application, plus the other fees such as medical, travel, etc?

Congrats!

Just to confirm, you can file the I-130 after the wedding.

Barring a change in fees, yes. Fees do not change too often, but be sure to check again when you're ready to file.
