Do I have good evidence for my I-130 packet?

Hello Visa Journey members,

My husband and I are about a week away from submitting our I-130 packet! Needless to say, we are thrilled! I just wanted to get some feedback on our evidence of a bonafide marriage and see if there is anything else recommended I include:

  • 6 hand-written letters (with dates)
  • 22 photos of us throughout the duration of out relationship (from the beginning to a few days ago, before he left America) ((all dated and labeled with who's in the photo))
  • screenshots of Skype logs (spanning 8/2016 to 11/2017)
  • Facebook page screenshots of our photos together (including likes and comments)
  • screenshots of WhatsApp call logs that span approx. 12 months
  • joint bank account information
  • copies of saved plane tickets and train tickets
  • print-out of itineraries for my flights to Italy and flights we took to Vegas a few weeks ago
  • receipts for hotels we stayed at in Italy
  • passport stamps (both his and my passport)

We asked my best friend, who attended my wedding, to write an affidavit for us, as well as my mother. How necessary do you think the affidavits are in regards to the other evidence we are submitting?

Thanks!

It sounds like you have a pretty well rounded set of documents.  Affidavits are the least important.  If you can easily get a couple, throw them in, but don't go to much trouble for them.

We had a similar set of documents, but unfortunately they never tell you what they liked and what they didn't care about.  The pictures were what they looked at in the interview.

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback! This might be a dumb question, but during the interview, will the officer have access to the I-130 packet I sent initially? Or will my husband  have to bring copies of the entire packet contents?

Take a copy of everything just in case.  They seemed to have seen the case, but they also specifically asked for pictures again.  I gave them copies of the same pictures and they seemed to have been looked at just before the interview, though no specific questions were asked.  In the embassy we went to, you go to one person who verified the original documents (DON'T mail originals of anything), then you wait and see the interviewer separately.  Couldn't tell from lack of view of his desk what he had as far as documents.
