Living in different states...

Hello!

My girlfriend (USC) and I live in different states because of school. We´re both on our early 20´s which means we don´t have property under our names. We do though have a bunch of pictures and receipts from travelling through the world and with each others family. My questions are:

  1. What else can we use to show that our marriage is bonafide?
  2. If we live in different states, where would the interview be? Where would the biometrics be done?

Thank you!

Strange that you call your wife a girlfriend.

Maybe its because we haven´t married yet???

Well then it's impossible to (non-fraudulently) show that the marriage is bona fide since it doesn't exist yet.

Living apart isn't a cause for denial, especially for newlyweds. However, it does raise concerns if a marriage is bona fide or not when the couple does not live together. This is overcome with relationship and marriage evidence. Do you have joint accounts or credit cards (and actually regularly use them together)? Are you listed as beneficiaries for each other's accounts, insurance, etc.?

The photos and proof of travel together is good to include, but they may want to see more by the time of the interview...once you've better established yourselves as a married couple living in the US.

what visa are you going to apply for then? You are talking about bonafide marriage while you are not married.
