Hi all!

The NVC expedited our approved I-129f application to the US consulate in Montreal a few days ago and emailed me (the applicant) to say that the consulate would get in touch with me soon. I went ahead and contacted the consulate and told them, the operator gave me a web address where  I could schedule an interview. Now im nervous because i havent actually got word back from the consulate but I want to go ahead and schedule my interview. I have a Case ID and ive filled out the 160 online visa application form and have a confirmation number from them.

Do you think I can go ahead and schedule the interview??

Thank you!

Any updates on scheduling your interview? Did you wait for Montreal to send you Packet 3 first?

CEAC shows that Montreal received our case April 3rd 2018...

"Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. If you have already scheduled an interview appointment, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the Consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment."

I can't locate any relevant information from the link they have listed on how to schedule the interview.

The example Packet 3 states: "NOTE: You are NOT authorized to make an interview appointment at this time. All unauthorized appointments will be cancelled without notice."

The Canadian US Embassy only states: "Most immigrant Visa applicants are scheduled for their interview by the National Visa Center (NVC). Please attend the NVC-scheduled appointment in order to avoid delays in processing your case."

The email from NVC says, "The U.S. Embassy will contact your fiance(e) when they are ready to schedule a visa interview."
The US Embassy website says,  "Most immigrant Visa applicants are scheduled for their interview by the National Visa Center (NVC)."

So who is scheduling the interview?!

No.  You have to send packet 3.  After you get packet 4, telling you it's okay to book an interview, then AND ONLY THEN, may you book an interview.  Otherwise Montreal will cancel it.
