False NOA2

I received my I129F Receipt notice on 3/13/07, the transfer notice indicating transfer to CSC on 4/5/07 and the approval notice on 4/11/07. I have quadruple checked the receipt numbers on these things and they all match and all were sent electronically as well as hard copy. Then Thursday I received a CRIS e-mail saying the status was pending at CSC. What gives? Is it possible that the notice indicating approval was wrong?

It sure seems like they made a mistake, that's way too early. My NOA1 for the I-129F came on 4/6. Received E mail that it was transferred to the CSC on 4/17, then got a hard copy transfer notice on 4/23. I'd try and find out what happened. Good luck.

Does your NOA2 hard copy say approved? Does it show an A number?

Yes it does indicate approval and even names the correct consulate. Not certain what to look for in an "A number...it does have a 9 digit number preceded by an A under the heading "Beneficiary" above my wife's name. What is the significance?

The A# is your wife's Alien Registration # that will be hers to keep for life until she becomes a US citizen.

Have you called the NVC to find out if your case was transferred to their office yet? If USCIS did approve your I-130, then it should be there by now. If not, then call USCIS back to find out what exactly is going on.

CR-1

02/05/07 - I-130 sent to NSC

05/03/07 - NOA2

09/27/07 - Interview, visa granted

10/02/07 - POE

Removing Conditions

07/06/09 - I-751 sent to CSC

08/14/09 - Biometrics

09/27/09 - Approved

Have not had a chance to contact NVC or USCIS regarding this. Will attempt that this week. BTW, the aproval is for an I-129F/K3 not the I-130. Only have the NOA1 for the I130 at this point. Is the Alien Registration # assigned only for I130 approvals or is it also associated with the I129F/K3? Again it appears in the Beneficiary box on the NOA2.

One A number is assigned to a person. An approved I-130 notice does not contain an A number in the rectangle containing the beneficiary's name. NOA2 for I-129F (k3) does.

pushbrk,

The Approval Notice for my I-130 for my wife shows her A#. I'll have to check to see if it's the same A# that was assigned for my I-129f petition, I suspect that it is different.

Many people receive multiple A#s during the course of the immigration process.

Chris,

I expect that the e-mail was sent much later than it should have been, and was informing you of a past event not a current one.

pushbrk,

That doesn't mean that all Approval Notices do not show the A#. Be careful of extrapolating too much from one's own experience.
