Has anyone here tried to withdraw there Kiwisaver due to financial hardship?

If so, please let me know as I would love to ask a few questions about the process. I tried calling ANZ but they're Investments team are closed over the weekend.

I don't know much about withdrawing for financial hardship but work at IR so know a little bit, they might not release all your funds to you unless you can prove a deficit, most times they will consider bankrupting someone first as this would be considered true hardship, and if you have any assets such property or cars they definitely won't release it. But I see you left NZ in August, you might be best to wait till August this year and you have been living outside of NZ for a year and then apply for all your kiwisaver funds to be released back to you.

Yeah I used to work for AMP who are one of the default providers and I recall you pretty much had to be bankrupt to even be considered for early withdrawal.

I will just wait till August :)
