Canada and Western Europe new procedures

How many of you have envied Canadians and Westerners who can visit their loved ones whenever?

I am addressing the ones from tRump **** countries and others from the economically disadvantages nations.

Also, addressing the Canadians and Westerners. Who knows? I Might just have a great idea here and if the USCIS can implement it, we d all be golden.

Just a thought and an idea here; Since joining the group, I have felt left out and somewhat sad when I read of a Quebecois who visits her Fiancé or husband just minutes away, in Albany for instance. She or he can visit weekly or even daily due to great proximity. Western Europeans, and up until only recently when they started doing some slight online formula, could hop on the first flight from London to NYC for just under 500 bucks and spend the weekend together. I, and the rest of the unfortunate, can only dream of such convenience; The only option one has is to either fly to their significant other, or play the "wait game".

Here is my idea:

Why not have a different and simplified application for Canadians and Western Europeans?

They are so very unlikely to attempt immigration via a spouse for economical reasons, and we all know why.

Perhaps, Different guidelines and applications without interviews or Consular involvement will speed up the process for all-- Lower risk immigrants vs. higher risk immigrants, one may call them or categorize them. Any thoughts or ideas??? Have a pleasant weekend all.

Ps. Just bored and somewhat annoyed with this Visa wait. Btw, Italians or Spaniards for instance can bring their spouses withins just one to two months. Why?

You mean to say, those nations that do not meet adjudication standards under USCIS Immigration law. It isn't the fault of western countries, or Canada, who do have standards in place to allow accurate vetting.

I don't see the process changing anytime soon.  Even for those who by accident of birth are in a situation where they are close enough to visit.  Sure the process can be viewed as  interminable, and unfair, but for the moment, it is what it is.

I've never seen people from Spain or Italy complete the process in that time frame. Where are you finding that?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I think they already do this to an extent and unofficially.

Applicants from high fraud areas or majority Muslim areas are far more likely to get the dreaded “additional processing” which is not regulated and can last over a year.

While I understand your frustration, this forum is for support and information. Not to play “who has it worst”.

Sorry, I should clarify: If someone from Spain marries from another country, they bring their spouse to Spain

within 1 or 2 months.

I am not playing anything here. It was merely an idea and I did not complain about anything. Actually, my suggestion will benefit all. Read again.

I am not from a high fraud area.  I am in fact a Canadian Citizen, who was resident in New Zealand. They held us up on our K1 at NVC for the best part of two months, and at the interview, I was told it was random.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I think the point he is making is why doesn't USCIS and DHS fast-track immigrants from so-called "low fraud" countries such as Canada, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc where the applicants have no economic advantage to move to the USA and are statistically more likely to be moving for love, not a green card. This would free up resources and employees to focus on others and thus speed up the process for all. I can see his line of thinking. But I can also see the problem in that they could face a discrimination suit when petitioner A sues because his wife from country X was processed a lot slower than the British/Canadian/Swedish etc wife of petitioner B.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

wouldnt it be nice? love is the ONLY reason my fiance is moving here. While we are aligned politically, neither of us are errr fans of the current administration, and he will make FAR less money here than he does there. and he has free health insurance (in a sense, anyways). Then you have him driving 750+ miles each way every 3 weeks (for the past 2 years) to come visit.

i have a hunch, and thats all it is, that immigrants from.... 'friendly' countries are scrutinized less. randomly perhaps sure, but not to the extent of many.... places and situations. maybe its me being hopeful and naive. the thought of another year of this (we'll be filing the k1 next month, he has to gather a couple of documents still), is slightly depressing (but, nothing i can do about it....sigh ......)

i 485, 130, EAD and AP

04/09/2019    NOA1 received/check cashed i 485 and 130 (direct adjustment)
