Filipinos in Durham North Carolina

Hi to all is there any Filipino here living in Durham North Carolina? Im a Filipino just move here i want to meet any kababayan if theres any near in my place. Im so bored & lonely here pls kindly send me a private message thrn we can arrange to meet up. Thank you i appreciate all your reply.

There are a fair number pinoys both in and around the Triangle. There are a couple Filipino stores as well in and around Raleigh/Cary but the closest one to you is the Oriental Store. Also there is a big Asian Market in Raleigh called the Grand Asia Market which has a fair number of Filipino stuff in there as well. We just moved from Los Angeles to Sanford which is an hour from Durham, and my wife feels the same way as you. Where in the Philippines are you from? My best guess for you is to go to local Asian stores and start finding Filipinos, don't be afraid from talking to people.

Cary and Raleigh are the same thing to me in all honesty, and I am from NC. I just don't see any line distinguishing between the two anymore.

 

My kids like Asian stores for the snacks that they can get there not found in regular stores. Even my non-FilAm kids are like that.

my daughter always liked the japanese snacks. shes grown now, she can go buy it herself. im not driving that far (from where i bought my house its ... 2+ hours)

 

my son liked a lot of it, but hasnt asked and if he did, id order it on amazon (which irritates my fiance to no end as hes a big supporter of shop local. Which i am too, but im not driving 2 hours for crackers. lmao)

i just bought a house in southern virginia, near the border. moved from the wake forest area. i work in henderson.

 

grew up splitting time between henderson and raleigh lol

As someone from the triangle I have to heartily disagree that raleigh and Cary are totally different. And anyone from this area will agree.

 

Cary & Apex are sort of the same though.
