Damn you're optimistic! I'm hoping we get the same interview timeline and we filed 3 months before you.

I hope that you get the benefit of being a girl and not living in Turkey anymore since the one Turkish filer in May was also at the tail end of their month.  Sorry to be a Debbie downer.

For me not much is a downer.

however end of April for me is 250 days :) and NVC let's say 2-3 weeks. Get the interview which is in japan 2-3 weeks the most..so this is not being optimistic no worries. It is also not about which country someone is in. Not living in Turkey does not really affect anything in this process. If you get stuck you get stuck there's not much you can do.

You filed 3 months before me is the point. I'm not in the crazy zone yet.

Background checks take just a few minutes.  They use that as an excuse.  They type the name. DOB, SSN and the results are back in a minute or two.

Actually not all background checks happen at Csc. There is more than one database they search for, and seems like main checks actually go to FBI and they send it back to csc( this came out when researching for shutdown as the part that would cause delays if he shutdown went longer.

*and even though I don't believe anything uscis tells us, tier 2 confirmed this.

This is a fact. I buy guns .. takes minutes. Runs 24 hrs a day Full FBI/DHS/DEA scan .. Homeland Security has full access to Facebook, emails, all social media, no warrants .. (don't ask me how I know this factoid).

No they don't they actually can't use social media databases etc only official databases.

and especially not through this process.

Can anyone help im confused!!

So Savannah phoned NVC today. They have received our application and have assigned us our new case numbers.

I entered these numbers into the CEAC website and got this message..

'Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol(Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask. '

I also entered these numbers into another part of the CEAC website and got this message..

'K visas are nonimmigrant visas that assist spouses or future spouses of American citizens in entering the United States. As with all nonimmigrant visa applicants, a DS-160 must be filled out in order for a consular section to process the case.'

SO NOW WHAT!?

Do I have to wait until my case has made it to the US consulate before I can fill out these online forms or can I start them now? The first message takes me to a site which is a 6 step process to 'begin NVC processing' and the second message takes me to a link which wants me to start a DS-160 form. Which one do I fill out or do I fill out both... Now or when my case gets to consulate??? I'm sorry this has totally thrown me.

Umm instructions are online on that website? I don't understand the question, sorry.

just do the regulars, start ds-160 wait for it to get in transit and ready, wait for embassy to contact you, at the same time gather interview documents such as clearances.

Ah to go back to the optimism I had at day 141, but it's a lot hard to see anything positive here at day 232. At least you don't have to wait for an appointment in Ankara.

Yeah, I'm estimating my interview for mid-May and definitely not before that lol.

It will be almost a full year since we would have applied.

You know I do believe nobody realizes how fast it can get right after NVC receives it. Everybody thinks it's weeks and weeks, but unless the embassy is a huge k1 embassy or is an extremely busy embassy things can unfold in a month after NVC receives.

i used to count like that and give it months and months and now I realized how smooth it goes.

Hi Naes, I sent you a question thru DM, can we find out the date someone applied for the visa with the case number?

I still have to wait for japan. The average timelines show 10 days difference only. But yeah that part can help a little bit.

again this is nothing optimistic as I'm counting 250 days as the end line... optimism would be believing my vj timeline here. I'm just not an extreme pessimist.

I also dont see much much of a difference between 200 and 232. The reason it is killing our nerves here because we know someone else have it and we don't. Now as I don't even need a noa2 till April which is an easy 210 days for me. I don't worry.

So so I understand how when people are stuck in a negative position they think everyone who thinks slightly positive than them is being too optimistic. But there is nothing optimistic about these numbers nor they are even better than any waiting Juners timeline.

Don't forget to take a note of the number the form will give you at the start.

that way if you save but don't submit it, you can retrieve it :)
