I just got off the phone with USCIS. They have referred my case to have someone look at it and find out what's going on and I'm supposed to hear back something by 2/13 although she stressed they have 30 days with which to respond.

 

She also said that I have to give them 30 days or they would not move forward with my case, which sounded like a threat to me. Did anyone else get anything like that?

Hey VJ, 

 

We've just received our NVC case number and invoice number by calling (no letter yet). On the case tracker website I get the below screenshot that makes reference to 6 steps.

 

Can someone please confirm:

1) are these the 6 steps referred to - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved/begin-nat-visa-center.html

2) when can I begin this process, i believe the first step is to appoint an agent? 

3) what are the fees exactly - from what i can find it's $265 for the k visa & $120 for the affidavit of support, can someone confirm?

You're a UK beneficiary?  Check out the UK forum instead for a detailed step by step because no, agents are not involved and your costs are totally wrong too.  Its too indepth to describe here, but there is literally a step by step guide in the UK subsection.

They said They received it last friday 26 january.. So this is 10 DAYS total after USCIS approval !!

For people still waiting for NOA2, think that at soon as you get your Approval the rest will just flow !  We here together ! 

 ! That's super fast.

he told her we are kinda getting nervous cause of our wedding date etc. 

 

do you think it makes sense to call in a few days again? 🤔

When do you expect the wedding to be?  I've called, written, emailed...all the same.  No real information was given and you will get frustrated when one says they have assigned you and a week later the next call says that you aren't assigned yet...it is crazy.

They can be "convinced" to send your case to NVC sooner than the 6 to 8 weeks.  It seems if you call and get the right person, they can release it right away.

 

I was told I would have a response by either February 8th, 30 days or 30 to 45 days.  The 30 days was stated AFTER they told me February 8.  I guess I will stick with the 8th for now. That will be our day 247.

Our wedding is June 2nd and my flight is 26th of April.... 😏

 

im praying every day they gonna approve us! A few got their RFE approved already with the same RFE recieved Date like ours.

My US Fiance just got off the phone with USCIS, since we sent back an RFE last Tuesday that was said to arrive on Thursday, but hadn't heard anything in terms of the USCIS definitely having received it. But the tier 1 person immediately put him through to tier 2, where they told him they have received it, and that it WAS in fact received on Thursday (25th). He then continued to say that it could take 1 or 2 weeks OR a couple of months, so back to the usual vague USCIS!!

Still, peace of mind slightly restored, as I was panicking the mail had been lost, since we taped the RFE envelope to a much larger envelope since the supplied one was way too small. 

Back to the waiting game! I'm hoping this is going to be a good week for all you virgins! (That sounded way more like an insult than it was meant to :P)

You can ask them after you are approved. You need a Tier II for that.

Thank you, that's good to know. Now I am hoping for an approval of some sort (or at least an RFE so I know it's being handled).

That is doable!  I will be praying for a quick approval!  Make sure you ask them to move your petition once it is approved.
