For the Dutchies. Keep in mind that you'll have to have an international version of your birth certificate and your Dutch police certificate (Verklaring Omtrent Goed gedrag). You can start prepping this in advance. Keep in mind the VOG needs to be not older than 6 months upon your interview.

Cheers

I got mine in November, so should be good (VOG that is). Thanks for the birth certificate reminder. I better get that one soon.

I think i'm going to get it once i get my NOA2, or do you think i should get it before that? I may also need a German police certificate because i worked at a Dutch army base in germany. I have no idea if i need a German police certificate for that.

Might be wise to get it once you see movement (approvals, RFEs) around your date. You could wait till NOA2 as well, but I was told (and says online as well) that it can take up to 4 weeks to receive it. I got mine within a week, but I remember a member in the April or May thread saying that it took 3 weeks to get it.

I asked the others who had the interview already, they said to bring these as examples of proof of domicile.

State ID, health care or car insurance, mortgage, electricity bill, phone bill, storage bill, credit card statements, driver’s license, voters’ ID, bank accounts, gym membership, retirement fund statements, lease agreement and mutual fund statements.

I recently heard about this. My situation is a little complicated due to this. I currently work for a US company that lets me work remote from wherever. I moved to Vietnam at the beginning of the visa process (about 7 months ago) to live with her while we wait. So this will be held against us? I have a full-time job that makes well above the poverty line, bank statements in the US, a US drivers license.

Is the "international version of birth certificate" only for your country? My wife is from Vietnam, and no one has said anything about an international version of her birth certificate. I hired Rapid Visa, they haven't said anything...

Most of the USC living here (US contractors) in Kuwait are under Administrative Processing due to not providing enough proof of US domicile. If you can give the consulate more documents like employment cerificate from your US employer, tax transcripts, an apartment lease or a letter that says the two of you will be staying temporarily with someone when you go back to the US , and a letter explaining to them that you will be going back to the US with your fiance when she receives her approved visa.

So I will have my 2017 tax return, all my pay stubs from 2017 + 2018,  a letter of employment from my company signed by HR, W-2s, bank statements from a local credit union, and American credit card statements. And I can provide a letter written from my grandmother that we will be staying with her when we arrive back in the US until we find an apartment.

you think that is enough?

Yes, also include a letter that says you will go back to the US with her when she has her visa. You are good to go if you have all those documents. ^_^
