Vocaledge, that's not the case.

I don't know what the other consulates ask for. Perhaps they UK consulate doesn't require it. Perhaps the Tunisian consulate doesn't require it.

However, they certainly do require it here in Canada. They ASK for it in their packet 3.

Not only that, it's the first item, emphasized with an underscore on the checklist of required documents on Packet 3 sent by the Montreal Consulate.

https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf

In addition, there is a poster here, I believe they are April filers, who received a NOID for something fairly trivial. I can't remember what exactly but I stand by my assertion that it's better safe than sorry.

YMMV but to me, it's an awful long road to travel just to be thwarted---or even just further delayed---by documents lacking or incorrect format somehow.

My point was that those who don't ask for it would not require it, such as mine.

If they ask for it, of course you should provide it, and I DO agree that its always better to be safe than sorry, so overpreparation is fine... And yes, I see that I wrote "None ask for it", which was worded badly, and in that context, is clearly wrong.

On the other point, an NOID isn't a denial, its a notice of intent, which would not be followed through once you proveded what was missing, (in this case a letter of intent to marry)...

Anyway - point is, if you can do it, do it... if you can't and it wasn't asked for specifically, don't worry too much..... fair?

oh this is so annoying :( I'm the beneficiary and I got my US sized passport pics done here in the UK at Tesco. The background of the pic is pretty white but it kinda has a grey-ish tinge...do you think this will be a problem?

Just in case someone hasn't answered your question yet (and I can't find your post later when scrolling back) : I got mine done here in the Netherlands and after seeing the posts here, I looked up my pictures again and judged that the background may be a little too grey/orangey...

I then got new pictures for my new passport, and got new US sized ones as well (for medical and interview) and those had a whiter background. Brought them with me on my last trip in case we'd get an RFE, but nope! The first pic I'd included was apparently good enough cause we were approved without RFE :)

Hello everyone!!

Hope you had a so so week at least!

And I know for some of us it was THE WEEK :)

I personally changed my wedding date to 2018/8/18 and I feel 1 month lighter :D

Even though days pass slower since 2018 started, I am counting... 85 days to quit...

Hopefully noa2 will come before that!

For June;

we are getting more navy!!!

image.png.6dd15df80729cd4561fc12cf2242b9ec.png

I kind of believe that 6/19 got lots of silent noa2s.

so in order to check how many days actually didn't have an approval, I made this list of only approvals.

At least for any date that doesn't appear here means silent noa2s came later in the mail. And there are also ones that came from other dates where day both made updates, and sent noa2s without update.

We're using his mortgage statement plus a copy of his driver's license. His address is on all of his other information as well, so we're thinking that should be good enough.

How about you, what are you guys thinking of using?

I have a bit of a unique living situation so no mortgage but I have utility statements, maybe those would work?

I think those will work as well. You're providing bank statements and tax info for your I134 supporting documents, right?  Driver's licence? Lease?

Now that I have NVC case number I can do the ds160 and pay the visa fee, is that correct? Can I schedule the interview too? This is for Lagos Nigeria. I’m just not 100% clear on it. Thanks everyone...

Please check consulate pages they have some helpful information, once it get to consulate each is a little different and you may have to ask people that have been to your consulate before.   But for the most part that is correct ds-160, visa fee, and interview. and get things ready from packet 3.

@vocaledge is right, the US Embassy would not Deny the case but will be placed under Administrative Processing.

@D and T, you are also right that it is written in your Packet 3 for Canada. You are right to say that it is better to be over prepared than sorry.

Usually the US Embassies here in the Middle East will just ask for the papers written on Packet 3. Here in Kuwait, they also require the petitioner's letter of intent as instructed on Packet 3.

It's not listed in the requested documents I received from the Tunis embassy either.

Okay. All together, those documents should surely suffice. I mean, if there are any other requirements then I don't know what they could be.  What other evidence of domicile could a person possibly provide anyway?

I looked at your profile just now and noticed that you are a June 19th filer.  Gosh there are a lot of filers on that day!  It hurts in my gut to see how many people are still waiting, good grief! You and all the other Junies are always in my thoughts.  Can't wait for you guys and the remaining May filers to get through with this, my God what a horrible ordeal this is. (L)
