JUNIES.

I just called NVC. (I’m the beneficiary) and they advised that received my case today and it had been assigned a case number and invoice ID number.

my NOA2 was 9th Jan 2018.

(16 days after NOA2!)

My fiancé rang last week (Friday I think) and was told to call back in another 4weeks (after the 6 week period).

i rang the number and followed the options a previous post posted.

Tel: 603 334 0700 option 1 and then 5.

good luck xx

Woooooooow!! That's awesome!

Congratulations!

Can't wait to see more of those messages on here :)

They gave me a case #, what should I do?

You called them back already? I mean, did you call them twice today?

And the first time you called, they didn't have it, but the second time you called, they did have the case number ready?

LOL I'm sorry... this post is confusing because I'm confused too! :P

Let me just ask you this: Did you call the NVC twice today?

:)

June 19

@elwoodicious - RFE rec.

We’ve been sort of feeling like we are stuck in limbo. They requested more fotos and a different copy of my divorce decree. They accepted the RFE response on the 12th, our case was updated on the 19th with no status message and when I called today to inquire they said we need to wait at least 60 days before a decision is made.

I’m not sure what we can do at this stage. My fiancée thinks we should get a lawyer but I am not sure if that is going to do anything more then have me writing checks while we wait.

From what i have read here on VJ lawyers do not do much.  You will be more on top of your case and ask more questions.  personally I would wait a day and keep calling.  That being said it is a personal choice.

I agree that you should not bother with a lawyer. They can't do anything you can't do for yourself. I think you'll hear something much sooner than 60 days. It's just a number they are quoting. Hang in there, they'll get to  you!

Good luck :)

waiting for a callback. 156 mins waiting time. I told the tier 1 guy i backed up my phone and couldn't retrieve my receipt number

Keep your phone handy! I was given a 150 minute estimate and they called back in about 100.

The tier 2 was really understanding. She put me on hold to actually check the status - it's with an adjudicator. She couldn't confirm that background checks are done, but she said typically they are completed before it's assigned to someone. She didn't give me a time frame, but she actually ran me though what will happen after an approval (sent to NVC, etc.). Actually really nice.

the guy told me to tell my fiance after everything is done it will be worth it. I hope that is a sign of approval hahha
