Guys, my case is showing AT NVC, I called them and they gave me my case #, can I proceed and submit the DS160 ? They said its electronic, what are the next steps ?

Hey Congrats!

The next steps for Rio de Janeiro consulate are:

1. Fill DS-160

2. Use your Confirmation Number to make the appointment at;

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/pt-br/iv

3. Pay the fee and afterwards the exams =)

Just go to Rio de Janeiro after them say that you case arrived there, sometimes just make  the schedule doesn't mean that the case is there

I hope that you can understand

Hey Guys....here is an update on my case currently....

Just got off the phone with Tier 2 who I have to say was very nicest compared to my last 4 experiences with Tier 2. I went from calling once a week to now 1 every other week after my non-information service request response back on 1/10.

The Tier 2 rep said that while yes my case is still pending but she can see that on 1/12 my case was moved out of the "last phase" of the review process and is now in queue for an adjudicator to review so I am very close to getting a decision. She said I can call back in 2 weeks if I don't have anything by then and then put in a service request but she recommended not to put one in right now since my case has moved over from whatever the department name she said it was previously in and is now in queue to reviewed and decided.

Please continue to keep Reni and I in prayer in hopes that we get something before the month is over! Thank you all so much for your continued support!

I'm very happy to read that! I'm always thinking of you and @Shoegum, my personal VJ idols LOL. I'm happy you finally got some good news and I hope you can get over that stage very soon!

I just came back home from my interview. I was approved! we're about to book my flight for two weeks from now so we can marry in Valentine's day, we figure it's worth the risk especially since there's a magically very cheap flight for the 10th and the interviewer said he thinks it's very likely I'll have my passport back by then!

so here's the summary: my embassy trip was mostly fine and only took about an hour and a half. they really scared me a couple times but everything's good we think. first scare: the lady who took my papers said that even though the packet 3 instructions AND an email from the embassy confirmed that for argentines, the requirement of police records for residence abroad was 1 year minimum residence instead of 6 months like for most countries... the interviewer might still decide he wants to see mine for New Zealand, in which I spent almost 9 months as a backpacker. the thing is I had already tried to get those records just in case and they never replied, and also they take at least one month and a half, and I had to arrange the picking up from the ministry of justice over there and bringing it over here somehow. anyway luckily in the end the interviewer just asked me a couple questions about NZ and was satisfied so I'm not going to be delayed who knows how long for a thing that they clearly stated shouldn't be a problem.

second scare: in the end he said "you're approved, congratulations!" and then gave me a paper that said rejected LOL. I'm 99% sure this was an honest mistake since the guy just wanted to give me some paper with their email address written on it so I could tell them I already have a flight date so please try to give me back my passport by then. the first paper he reached for was one of the ones they give to rejected interviewees. it was a form and he didn't fill, stamp or sign anything on it, just circle around the email address he suggested me to write to, so hopefully it's just that, but man was I scared when I realized that (I wasn't in the room anymore so I couldn't ask). The receptionist said not to worry about it too.

other than that, the interview itself was quite easy and painless, he asked me a couple things about our relationship and other facts. since I had traveled to a country in the Middle East he asked more than a little about that and came back to the subject a couple times. everything was OK. he also seemed especially interested in how I liked the Netherlands, which I'd visited recently. overall very friendly, quick and even joked a little bit and talked about nice places to eat in Buenos Aires.

Just called USCIS. They would not transfer me to a Tier 2 individual until normal processing times had elapsed. Apparently their website shows June 1st, and my case if June 27th, so they told me to wait until February 15th...

Hi Bri!

We are in the same boat as you, this process has taken much, much longer than expected. But hold tight, in the end, the wait will be all worth it! (Fingers crossed)

I am sorry i didnt read your question correctly LOL... So after i got my NOA2 I started calling NVC (+1-603-334-0700 option - 1 and - 5 ), and today they gave me the NVC # (RJD2018XXXXXX ) I did my consultation at this website https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV and the case was changed to received to in transit. So then I submtied the DS-160 from and tried to pay the fees https://ais.usvisa-info.com/pt-br/iv, but the website says my case is still not ready to schedule the appointment. So I believe i will be able to pay the fees and schedule my interview and exam after my case is showing as ready on CEAC website.
