Ahhh - I see!

Absolutely you need SSN, but not employment - they give you a license until your K1 'times out' and then you show them your I-485 and they extend it again... once you get your greencard, all is well... this is my basic understanding of it so far, for GA at least.  (I dont have a UK license - I'll be learning)

He did - at both desks :-)  In fact, the lady who 'interviewed us' asked him more questions than she asked me (and she only asked 4 in total!) hahahaha

Where did we meet....? (at me)
How long have you been in the country? (to him)
When are you planning to leave? (to him)
Are you excited to get married? (to him)

As the UK guy, I was a bit peeved that I was unnecessary! hahahaha

Our case is now in the normal AP after approval, and should see a change to approved and issued by the beginning of next week (I have until 13th March so I think I'll be fine)

My fiancé is heading over tomorrow evening, and arrives on Wednesday. I sent an email last week to state that he will be attending using their online form, but didn’t hear anything back.

Im so excited to see him. And then I feel sick for the interview lol

his birthday is Monday, and mine Tuesday so it will be nice for us to celebrate it together for the first time.

Thanks for for the info, now he can carry some of the weight lol.

I didn't hear anything back either but there was absolutely no problem on the day - just make sure he takes his passport with him.

Its so funny - my fiance and I have birthdays one day after each other too!  I'm the 19th May and he's the 20th.  I'll be there by then so we'll be able to celebrate together too for the first time :-)

The people at the USCIS should read this pages and see the pleasure and happiness the Noa2 is bringing to people as they start there lives together

Lol no way. Being together we noticed both our positives and ten percent (we call this our negatives) are the same. Think it has to do with our birthday part tbh.

Thank you for the info

Do you think my income will be an issue?  I technically only made 18k for 2017 due to starting work later in the year.  I will make 40-50k by the end of 2018 and my pay stubs show an income of around 2200 a month after taxes/benefits + 12k in savings.  A co-sponsor isn't an option in my case.

I'm really sorry but I dont know enough about the financial aspects to comfortably advise you on that.  All I know is that his W2 and tax returns (2018 and 2017) showed enough income alone so nothing further was needed.

Sorry I can't be of more help but I dont want to tell you something wrong.

No worries, I understand!

This is honestly the only part that has me really stressing.  I make more than enough money but unfortunately my 2017 taxes don't reflect that.

You'd have to get a letter from your employer with what your salary is (or is expected to be), if your part or full time and how long you've been employed. Plus it might not be a bad idea to get a letter from your bank showing the total amount of deposits for the last few years.

My employer already said they will not write a letter. Only thing my bank can provide deposits wise is a print out of all transactions but it is not an official document.  I was abroad for a year so I do not have any income from August 2016-July 2017.

Anyone have recommendations for international shipping btw?  Need to send the documents down to Brazil but it seems my only options are paying over $120 at the very least

I e-mailed US Embrassy in Brazil and they confirmed the Affidavit of support can be a scanned copy , doesnt need to be the wet signature. So i think you can skipe sending documents down :)

Its those darn postal people.  They never deliver much before 3:00 central.  I still have 2 hours!  I was thinking about stalking them.

Seems like they would hurry up. They should know you have fans waiting here lol

Ah, that's a shame. The only way would be with a co-sponsor then I would think...someone more experienced may have more ideas/info.
