It’ll also be difficult for me to adjust into a new country. I’ve drove since my teens, and haven’t ever been unemployed.

@vocaledge, You need to check this for yourself, but I understand you can drive on your UK licence until AOS since up to that time you are still just a visitor, I am sure there was some cases on the VJ site that covered this a few years ago. I am sure you need SSN and/ or Employment certificate to apply for a driving licence

As upset as I would be I really hope it is something stupid that I can send back to them right away.

We're all hoping the same! Fingers crossed for you, Rose and the kids. (L)

Hi @vocaledge And other UK filers, Which police certificate do you submit for the London Embassy? there seems to be a standard and an advanced one, since the USCIS is getting near starting September I think it is about time to getting the next stage started, thanks for your help

I got the 45 pounds one, and for 5 pounds more you can request an extra copy, and have it delivered for free in the US at your fiances house. I did that, just in case the post messes up/I need another copy later on in life. This was a good tip by another VJr

I wondered about an extra copy, I think it is a good idea. it would seem that dealing with any Government bodies the more back up copies you have the better !

my main aim starting on stage two now is so maybe I won't miss out something stupid.

Yeah for Brazil at least there is virtually no information on how they would like you to pay it, and it's incredibly frustrating.  She does not have the funds for it so I need to figure out if I need to leave her the necessary money or if I can pay with my credit card while abroad.  Ugh

I think the medical appointment has to be paid with BRL cash and everything else can be paid with credit card, because medical is the only one that has the price in BRL

At my interview, my fiance had the W2 and tax return - he offered other documentation (employer letter and paystubs) but they literally said, it can't be more perfect than those 2 things I just named.  If you have those and they show your sponsor above the level required, you absolutely dont need the employer letter.

Did he stand at the interview desk with you?

Anyone have recommendations for international shipping btw?  Need to send the documents down to Brazil but it seems my only options are paying over $120 at the very least

Not sure about Brazil, but me and my fiancé have always used dhl.

I just checked, it is $140 with them.  I know USPS is way cheaper but I keep reading about people who's packages get lost internationally with them

My fiancé wanted to use them, but I wouldn’t allow him lol.

Interview question:

My fiance sent me his tax returns, W2s, pay stubs for 2014, 2015 an 2016. He didn't have his W2 for 2017 at the time we began gathering his info and due to those lovely, on-going delays and uncertainty, we thought we'd have the interview booked before the date we ended up getting.

He's worked at the same place for 20 years, nothing has changed. But hearing others report being asked for 2017 W2s is making me nervous now.

Do you think I should ask him to send me a scan of his W2 for 2017 just to have that at least?

I personally would. Even if it’s a scan.
