So we called USCIS and kinda bugged them about our case.

First they told us our case has been assigned but it hasn’t been completed yet.

Then, we called again and they said we got an RFE on the 13th. (The website still wasn’t updated so we weren’t really confident that it’s true.)

Then a fee days later, still no letter, but the website did say we got an RFE.

I did say a few minutes earlier that we still don’t have any news about the letter but I just checked Informed Delivery, and there it was, that letter. It should be delivered today. ❤️

Hope you get an easy one. Do you have any idea what your RFE could be about?

Pretty much. Once it's been received by NVC, it'll be forwarded to the applicable country's embassy and once that happens, the beneficiary will receive Packet 3 in the mail, which contains information about scheduling their interview.

In the meantime, you can begin preparing whatever you know or think either of you may need for the next step. Me personally - I'm sending a full copy of everything I sent with the original I-129 to my fiancé for him to have, as well as all the financial support evidence, such as Affidavit of Support, tax information, bank info, etc. Also any additional evidence to support continued relationship between now and when the I-129 was filed. Those are things they may or will need for the final interview.

The beneficiary can also begin looking into their specific medical requirements, such as what vaccinations will be required. There may be many, and they may not all be able to be administered at one time.

Can the beneficiary go and do the medical or get vaccines or any of that ahead of time to take off some wait time

I'm praying for us all

@Tony and Tillie

It can be my passport photo. He just printed my scanned passport photo at work since Walgreens wouldn’t do it. They wanted me to be there to actually have the photo taken.

Or some letters maybe. I just wish it’s nothing to difficult. It’s getting me really anxious.

I don't think it does. If there's an approval or rfe you can learn on the phone so there's that.

They always do 2 months at least at a time, don't worry about july cases much. Or more like don't even think about those here. When june started may was also getting processed.

Vj shows only 50% so we still have 30 % (because vj usually only goes up to 80%) to go, nobody is alone they didn't stop june or anything.

(about feb 1, I'm really really hoping they will change the site to July 1 as of November so at least some inquiries would follow- although that didn't help every person but at least you'll be able to inquire. And probably that's why they will be working harder these 10 days to finish june as much as possible )🤞🤞🤞

Thank you!!

I didn't think our case would be complicated, but looking at it now, my last name is sucha common muslim last name.

They are probably background checking 3 generations back. lol <_<

And the fact that I don't have a birth certificate doesn't help either.

Fun.

Have they given you any hint as to what the hold up is?

Have they given you any information about your case?

USCIS giving hints or information???? Hahaha...nope, they haven't! And I put in a Ombudsman request 2 weeks ago but with the government shutdown I just got an e-mail this morning saying that they are closed until the government shutdown is over and once that happens they will resume on working on case request at that time.

If it's not one thing it's damn sure another.

My only guess is possibly background checks based on my fiance's denied entry at POE November 2016 when he attempted to visit using his tourist visa but whenever I asked they claimed that our background checks were cleared already so I don't know what it is at this point.

I don't know how you're staying so strong. If it was me, I wouldn't be able to get out of bed. Did you guys make wedding plans or did he quit his job or give notice to his landlord?

I'm glad at least your background checks have cleared.

The government shut down couldn't come at a worst possible time.

I really pray you hear back by end of this week

Yup, we were tentatively scheduled to get married December 30th but my venue is really understanding of my situation and being flexible thus far with letting me move my dates since all I paid is the non-refundable deposit and nothing more. He initially wanted to stop working at one company because someone found out that he was doing the fiance visa process so they started cutting his hours. So he's working somewhere else at the moment but he doesn't really like what he's doing. However, he's gonna bear it out until it's time because he doesn't like jumping from job to job. The house he lives in is his so he doesn't pay rent it was built years ago and he's been living in it since he was a child so when his grandmother passed away he it became his so he doesn't pay rent.

My main concern other than our approval is the crime rate is spiking in his country so I worry more about his safety and livelihood every day. Not saying we don't have crime here in the US but there is obviously a lot harder to control so to speak.

I pray I hear something this week too although every week that passes is the same result.
