Guys - before we continue with more chatter about cold weather, does anyone know the answer to @SatinderSabiee's question?

Cause I don't.

I vaguely remember someone posting about the same situation before, but I can not recall who that was, or where to find the info.

I do not know I recall someone asking which form to fill out between ds260 and ds160 and we fill out the ds-160.   so not much help, possibly call NVC and see if they got confused?

AJ and Aira have experienced 20°c (68° f) once.  That is the coldest they have ever felt.  I may ask them to go stand in a walk in freezer so they have a better idea of their new reality.

thanks for confirming it.They gave me invoice id with case number  on 24 jan and today i got email which says i should be filling up ds261 which is not meant for k1 ..So what i have come to know now tht they are considering my case as i130.which is why i have been in adminstrative process since 10 days at nvc.what you guys says?

You filed a K-1 but they are treating you like you filed a CR-1?  I have heard of that before.  Just file the DS-160 and complete everything as a K-1.  They will figure it out.  They send so many form letters that they get confused.  If you are not yet married, stick with the process.  They will catch up.

Okay, now we have the NOA 2, I'm kinda got a little lost on what to do next. :/

How long should we wait before we can check up with NVC to get our case number? Is 2 weeks good?

I know after that we'll be working on something every week, basically things are going to be fast.

Congratulations,  now the file will go to the NVC, it will be electronically filed so when calling the NVC to check your case call 1-603-334-0700 wait (1 for English, 2 for spanish), then option 5 for checking status.    after they assigning case number then you can check CEAC.   When the NVC processes your case and sends to embassy they will send you an e-mail stating it is being sent to the Embassy, Tegucigalpa in my case.   It took the NVC 13 days after I had case number to send to Tegus then another 8 days for Tegus to show ready on our file yesterday.

Now i am at the point where I am confused, or just plan do not have much information since it mentioned the embassy will contact my fiancee and give interview date.  but we have not heard anything but may take a while being only ready yesterday.

Thank you so much for the info!!

But then the only way to get case number is calling the NVC or will I get case number in email or mail?

I know after that we'll be working on something every week, basically things are going to be fast.

The rule of thumb is to wait about 2 weeks after receiving your NOA2 before calling the NVC. I've heard this part has sped up quite a bit from when we were waiting on ours, which I blame on the holidays; our NOA2 was on 12/1/17 and we didn't receive a case number from the NVC until 1/18/18 (they received our case on 1/17). When you do call, select the option for verifying receipt of case (I can't remember exactly how it's worded, but I THINK it's Option 3). They'll need your WAC receipt number (on your NOA1 and NOA2). If they've received it, they should be able to give you a case number over the phone.

The beneficiary can proceed with their medical requirements once you guys have a case number. :) They recommend (at least in our case) that you wait until the beneficiary actually receives the information from NVC before scheduling an interview. In the meantime, just prepare for what will be needed for the interview. Collect any additional evidence or documents, such as the Affidavit of Support or equivalent, etc.

Håll ut, y'all.
