Goor morning guys! Wishing all of those still waiting a positive day today. I just received my NOA2 last night after only 1 week of sending the RFE response. I was wondering, what now? How long typically is the wait for the NVC to create a case? I called them and of course they didn't have anything yet? Based on what I read here it seems like it's different for everybody. What is the approximate waiting time for NVC to act? Hopefully is not as long as the USCIS

Congratulations!

If you look at the VJ tracker here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k57PdywNRpUqytomJxMzz6_7DsMqpi52DgnaYt9FyC8/edit#gid=606080062

You can see that someone recently got their case number really fast after NOA2 approval date - 7 days. I'd say average is 10 days, if you're lucky. Still a chance that it takes longer.

Before the slow downs of 6-8 weeks, the advice was to give it 1,5 to 2 weeks before calling. Calling right after NOA2 approval does not make sense, as USCIS needs a bit of time to send your case to NVC, for NVC to receive it (add to system) and for NVC to create a case number.

According to the lady who gave me our case number, K1's are generally at NVC for an average of 2 weeks. Meaning, from received to sent to embassy.

Call again in a week-ish - perhaps you'll get the lucky number then! ;)

You're almost there!

Hey guys! I haven't checked in, in a while .. so just an update.  I am still waiting for my NVC number.. my NOA2 was January 10th... so its been almost a month... just letting everyone know!   NVC says they "received" my case on January 26th.  which means it takes a little over 2 weeks for NVC to get the case (but I find this varies per case lol) and its been another 2 weeks come next Monday if I haven't received my case number.... so it will be at NVC for over two weeks  if it takes that long just to get case number. AGAIN, this varies greatly it seems.... but not as array as NOA2s...   I'm glad to see people getting NOA2s and that the process has sped up greatly for NVC numbers... hallelujah yall!  this spring is looking GOOOOOD for us all

This morning I woked up to the notification on the app that my petition was approved yesterday!!! ( on my bday) 😁😁😁😁❤🤗 what a sweet bday gift!!! I'm the petitioner and beneficiary is from Honduras. He is in Mexico at the moment due to work, I have one question. We never called nor did any inqueries and I was wondering I the petitioner will get my notified by mail or online when we get assigned our new case number??? (I dont really know how is called) lol

NOA1 06/27

NOA2 02/05 APPROVED

You will get the paper NOA2 in the mail in a few days.

New case number is NVC-related, you will have to wait one and a half to two weeks then call 603-334-0700, option 1, then option 5. You will need to give them your USCIS case number when you call.

Hi everybody! I filed for an I129 June 16 for my fiance in Colombia. Approved Dec 26th. NVC Received our case Jan 24th. Today, dated Feb 6, I got a letter saying:

"The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Bogota, Colombia. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition."

Now I am looking for help because, I am wondering if today (Feb 6th) is the date I can refer to on the Visa Journey website graph (Bogota Embassy) when waiting for the interview in Bogota? Does this letter mean the case is already sent and we have 20-30 days to go, or are we still waiting for another letter?

I know that there are (at least) 2 ladies on here who do not live in their home countries, and will be interviewing where they live now. So yes, living in and interviewing from a country other than your home country is fine, but I don't know the status that someone is required to have in that country, or whether it is even relevant to the US Authorities.

My personal guess is that he should be fine since you said that he is there legally on a visa, just not a permanent resident.

Is there a chance that he can call the embassy in Accra to verify?

Only other thought: Will he be able to obtain a police report from Ghana with his current visa?

Yes thank you for your response yes we have a policexcuse report from ghana

Quick question...

At the very end of the DS-160, right before signing and submitting, it asks if anyone assisted in filling out the form. I helped my fiance fill this out. Does she need to put my name there or can we just say "no"? Not sure if any red flags are raised if she puts yes, then my name.

NOA1 - June 26, 2017

NOA2 - January 17, 2018

NVC # Received - January 31, 2018
