For those who'd responded to an RFE ... how long did it take before you guys heard back from USCIS?  And when you heard back from USCIS, was it an approval or did you get another RFE? We've been waiting for 5 business days ... not sure if this is a reasonable wait time to call Tier 2 for the result.

Our RFE was not a complicated one.

Thank you!

Mine was ten days. Approval.

Hello all!

Our status on the CEAC checker has changed to ready. Do we need to wait until we get a letter from the embassy in Belgium before doing anything else? Or can we go ahead and schedule an appointment with the embassy with our case number the NVC gave us? I found an online portal with the following options and I'm not sure which one to pick:

  • I need to register an Immigrant Visa appointment
  • I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to schedule an immigrant visa appointment.
  • I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment.

By the way, I'm very confused as to whether the K1 visa is an immigrant visa or a non immigrant visa? I've seen it listed as both on multiple official websites from the government and the embassy.

Thanks in advance!

The third option literally says K visa.....

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but I was just wondering whether or not I can already fill all that in without having received a letter from the embassy or not?

The first outreach was on January 8 (day 216).  I also reached out on January 12 and again today.  I did receive the "within normal processing times and is currently pending adjudication".  A Tier I response.  I wasn't happy about that.  My contact today was a bit more aggressive (but polite).

How are u within normal processties when the date on the USCIS Website caged from June 1st to June 27th? Someone better look at their own information on the website.

That response from the Congressman came when it was still at June 1.  That is why I contacted them again today.  Now I am "officially" outside the published timeline.

Does anyone know if the USCIS sends RFEs through priority mail with a tracking number?
Or is it snail mail and we will probably get it a week from now?

Stupid questions I know...but so hard not to think of all the things that might be wrong with our application *sigh*

Thanks in advance for putting up with my psychosis.

Are you still waiting ?

Finally a letter from from NVC and good news.   We've approved your request for expedited processing of your immigrant visa application. The National Visa Center sent your petition to this U.S. Embassy for their action. The Embassy will contact you soon to schedule a visa interview.   I am very happy.
