So after seeing this... and checking their timeline... I called NVC.... and surprise surprise we were told that our case was received and they gave us our case number... NVC did not tell us when our case was received tho but i'm assuming it was today since I had called this morning and they said they had nothing. They told us that our case has not being fully open as yet so we should give them a couple days to do so..... I'm so ecstatic right now .. NOA2 -Jan 17 (paper copy) Jan 18 (USCIS case tracker)

Thanks Matt&Savannah.... :):)

P.s When we log into the CEAC site that is also the message that comes up..

:D So glad my confusion helped you in some way!!

Good luck with the rest of your application my friend!

He had asked for a I-94 and that’s what got him into secondary and denied at the border...so yeah we don’t have it

Hmm then you will go with approximates. Try to start listing them now.

you know you can start it, and check what else you guys may need. you don't have to submit it but at least you'll know what in detail they want.

Check your inbox. I have specific details for Jamaican consulate

Right now focus on data gathering

Gather evidence of ongoing relationship since submission of your application (boarding passes, photos, phone logs)

Get you I-134 paperwork together to send to your fiance (financial support documents, review what is entailed on website-W-2 forms, verification of employment from employer, tax returns etc)

Have your fiance submit to get police record (this can take time)

Have fiance present to justice ministry for certificate of no impediments to marriage ( this can take anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks for receipt)

There is also the medical that needs to be done (Kingston--St. Andrew's Hospital) but you technically can only get that scheduled after your beneficiary has received notification from the consulate that have received the application from the NVC--which will contain all of the next steps your beneficiary needs to take as well as the medical form that will need to be completed no less than 10 days prior to the interview

Once the NVC lists your case on CEAC as ready contact the NVC to confirm that the consulate has received your application (They should have a DHL tracking number)

If your fiance has not heard from the consulate in 2-4 weeks in writing to acknowledge receipt and next steps I  would contact the consulate directly to check the status

I hope that helps---I have generic forms the Jamaican consulate sends out to every K-1 beneficiary

Thank you... funny enough we started doing all this already....

I meant that before the slow downs, the advice was to call 1,5 - 2 weeks after NOA2 approval date, as it would take roughly that time for USCIS to send to NVC and for NVC to generate case number.

The past 2-3 months it was taking USCIS 6-8 weeks to send to NVC. Then once at NVC it would go pretty fast.

However, with what we're seeing now, it seems that USCIS is back on their old routine, resulting in case numbers in 1,5 - 2 weeks time.

;)

:wub::ph34r:   its been 21 days since our approval date... so I should be hearing soon ( I hope)

From this forum, I'm getting the feeling they are currently changing their system...... and that currently its pot luck if your case is on the old system or the new system....  This is JUST a feeling from hints I've gotten on this forum from people mentioning their person who answered the phone saying that their case is 'electronic' and a 'new system' and that they haven't yet been trained in it.....  I have no idea which mine is in, if thats even the case, but thats a possible explanation?

I called the NVC two days ago, as my case still said 'at NVC'; he advised that they send the case both electronically and hardcopy (via DHL), which was news to me, I thought it was only DHL. At any rate, NVC status as of late last night has changed to 'in transit'; took 7 days for status change.

Well, just called NVC again. I asked if the case was sent electronically, DHL, or both. She said electronically lol, so we'll go with that for now. I asked a few times, different ways, just to be sure. It looks like it's electronically FTW! Initially I thought it would take a week or two to receive via DHL, but since that's not the case, maybe it'll only take a day or two unless they're using 56k modem.

I got my casa number today. So now all I have to do is wait for it to be ready to start the medical and pay the fee?

I'm sorry I know everyone asks the same questions and I understood everything we had to do. But on the instructions it says something about an nvc fee and affidavit of support fee is this for us k1 fillers or for other visas?
