OK... im really confused as to what to do next now that we have our case number ??? can anyone shed some light onto the situation. Please!

Check your inbox. I have specific details for Jamaican consulate

Right now focus on data gathering

Gather evidence of ongoing relationship since submission of your application (boarding passes, photos, phone logs)

Get you I-134 paperwork together to send to your fiance (financial support documents, review what is entailed on website-W-2 forms, verification of employment from employer, tax returns etc)

Have your fiance submit to get police record (this can take time)

Have fiance present to justice ministry for certificate of no impediments to marriage ( this can take anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks for receipt)

There is also the medical that needs to be done (Kingston--St. Andrew's Hospital) but you technically can only get that scheduled after your beneficiary has received notification from the consulate that have received the application from the NVC--which will contain all of the next steps your beneficiary needs to take as well as the medical form that will need to be completed no less than 10 days prior to the interview

Once the NVC lists your case on CEAC as ready contact the NVC to confirm that the consulate has received your application (They should have a DHL tracking number)

If your fiance has not heard from the consulate in 2-4 weeks in writing to acknowledge receipt and next steps I  would contact the consulate directly to check the status

I hope that helps---I have generic forms the Jamaican consulate sends out to every K-1 beneficiary

I will be fine tomorrow. I just need to vent. I really appreciate all the support here. I hope that I can help people as much as the people here have helped me.

John if anybody needs to vent its you! I've seen many people on this forum that were not prepared and had easy to correct RFE's.

You used rapid visa and paid good money to make sure your application was correct and have been researching for months the process and what to do correctly.

I don't blame you one bit for being mad at this point I know I would be!I just wish that they would tell you a honest answer on what is going on and what is causing your delay.

Hey guys !

NOA 2 - January 2nd and my fiancé just called and we got a nvc number !!

But it isn’t working on the Visa Status Check.

Many ideas why?

It doenst show on the USCIS website. If you already have your case number after the NOA2, go to this one to check : https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Visa type is Non Immigrant Visa : NIV

Select location : The Embassy location at your country that handle your visa case

Enter your case number : The one that you got after NOA2

After you enter all the info, it will show either of these following :

- AT NVC :  Your case is now at NVC, the will send it to your consulate at your country

- IN TRANSIT : Your case is on the way to your consulate at your country

- READY :  The Consulate receive your case, you can now process to book the medical exam, interview,... etc

For the beneficiary they hit the name + birthday combination in databases. If someone has a similar name or for example same last name born in same area a town or city, this may cause a hit, thinking that may be a relative.

So I think we should all name our kids special name. You never know if you would end up having to do the same process :D

Yep, even though still some folks are waiting as because of the previous problem. But for most late January approvals it looks pretty normal.

and yep it is not 100%

I have to say (and I may be the bad person here)...

I find it really shocking that people have been complaining about the wait of 7 months (or more), and yet during that time have not prepared for what comes next........

Sorry but I just had to say that - I'm cool to answer questions, but I just think its crazy and it honestly shocks me.

This may have already been said (I’m still catching up on the conversation).

I have read and re read the process until AOS, and have listed all the documents need for each state, however I personally ask questions to double check, as I’m sure many do.

Edit: just saw you rephrase it, totally understand

Holy smokes, that means that some people who are waiting for their NOA2's in the mail could have their applications half way through to the NVC?  Mind blowing.  It'd be good to see the process speed up especially to provide some relief to people who have been waiting extra long.

Exactly.

there was this May member who's noa2 never reached him and after waiting an extra month or so he learnt that he got noa2 and NVC case number at the same time 😊
