I have to say (and I may be the bad person here)...

I find it really shocking that people have been complaining about the wait of 7 months (or more), and yet during that time have not prepared for what comes next........

Sorry but I just had to say that - I'm cool to answer questions, but I just think its crazy and it honestly shocks me.

Tbh I do not think this is really nice to say either useful.. I think the common feelings we all share in this process are STRESS, FEAR.. All the "what if?" questions..

Stress makes us unsure and nobody here could say all this is easy. Plus the different requirements for each countries..

I am personally struggling to find recent infos about France for example even here on VJ cause things recently changed again apparently..

Add to this that just 3 weeks ago we still thought our case after approval would take 2 months to just reach NVC, now got cut to 10 days, yes this is a huge change, a good one (no complains here)! So about the evidences as recent as possibe needed for the embassy, it is just right to get them ready NOW.

It's an open space where we help each other and thank you for what you did and keep doing for this forum.

I don't even know what to do! I have our case number already but now i don't know if i should pay my visa fee, schedule an interview, and do medical or just keep waiting until NVC sends paperwork and says it's ready before doing everything else. I'm panicking inside my head but we're not even in a hurry to do all these things. I feel like we're running out of time and cramming but in reality, we're not. I should take some chill pill and cuddle with my cats...

You can go ahead and move on medical requirements. I would wait until you receive the packet from NVC before scheduling an interview - the info you get from them will have some beneficial info. However, it won't be long - NVC received our case on 1/17, and my fiancé (the beneficiary) already has his interview scheduled for 2/22. Do not panic! It's a very sudden overwhelming feeling once you reach this point, we felt the same way. You go from being so idle for so long, to a lot of action all at once. Just remember to take a deep breath every once in a while and take it step by step :) It does feel like you're suddenly running out of time - I struggled with that too! Still am, a tiny bit. :D

Personal I don’t see the point doing anything until you receive NOA2. Reason being that currently us still waiting for NOA2 don’t know when we are going to recieve it. In my opinion I wouldn’t wanna torture my self going for a medical, filing in the necessary forms etc.. until I have the NOA2 in my hand but that’s just my opinion. I’ve also asked you two questions but you never replied.

Yeah! It does feel like that huh? It's a bit overwhelming to say the least. I might try and see if i can book my medical in 2 weeks. Wait until NVC says it's ready and then go ahead with an interview around March 12. Although i think here in the Philippines you might need to schedule an interview appointment first and pay your visa fee until you can proceed with your medical. I'm not sure, i could be wrong. But i'll see what happens in 2 weeks and i'll go from there. ;)

I'm not sure about the Philippines, but never hurts to start making calls and asking questions :) By the time my fiancé had his medical scheduled for the 15th, he had his packet in the mail and was able to go ahead and schedule his interview for the following week. We didn't expect it to move this fast once it started moving! Definitely not complaining, it's a happy surprise. Anything you think you may need for the interview, I'd go ahead and start getting that together also. I've heard it helps to have a copy of everything that was sent with the original I-129 petition and any additional evidence for your continued relationship between filing and present. Seeing that light at the end of this tunnel that was beginning to feel never-ending is a pretty solid feeling! :)

I actually somewhat agree. Some of the paperwork I gathered while we were waiting for NOA2 is too dated now, and I have to get it all again. Not that it's a big deal, but some of it I might as well waited for NOA2 before getting.

Yeah exactly. As much as I would love to wanna go and do all the necessary things needed after NOA2 just seems better to wait, hopefully they touch our case this week but not gonna get my hopes up I need a new job first aswell so I don’t mind the wait at the moment as I can’t afford anything to go towards this process! :(

Guys everyone works differently.

I get everything ready before months and plan on every good and bad scenario. I am packed and ready to go, I even have AOS papers ready checked what else they will ask me etc etc.

then I had a huge fight with my fiancé literally two days ago, cause he didn't even check I-134 or how long the transcripts take and such. He said it just came up. I told him first time in September than later in November and in January when we need it (because he is coming here and he needs to bring those) it came up and I blow up.

it is ok to be one way or another, and it is normal that people don't understand why someone else is not doing something the way they do it..I think the same way, but I also understand the feeling like a fish out of water when something hits my door.

on another note anyone can find any info about what to do in my signature if needed; if can't see my signature just ask me so I can copy paste it here!

good luck.

You have to pay the visa fee before you can do medical. You don’t have to select an interview date necessarily. I did, which seemed premature at the time, but it looks like we may not have to reschedule. Fingers crossed 🤞.

I feel you! :( There's some things you can do to prepare that shouldn't matter, time wise. If you haven't already, make copies of everything you sent with the original I-129 petition, as I've heard that helps for the beneficiary to have at the interview (not necessarily a requirement). Make a checklist of things to collect once NOA2 is in hand, such as income/employment verification, additional evidence of relationship, etc. Additional evidence could also start being collected now, like additional call/chat logs/records, etc. Basically anything that's dated since your petition date.

Btw as someone who did all the forms also ds-160 so far, that copy of the petition was a life saver...

Trust me, it is one major thing I would do differently if I could do over - I didn't make copies in the beginning and had to go back and recreate it.  I tell everyone when first filing, making at LEAST three copies of everything included in the petition - one to send, a copy for both the petitioner and beneficiary to have.

Also one last thing I want to add,

the reason a question like ; "what to do now" can get an answer because there are people did the research beforehand.

so either party cannot be right in a situation like these. Otherwise who's going to answer the question in a topic where None did the research?

you would go back and find someone who already been there, and when they're busy with their visas who is going to reply?

so it is a both side important kind of situation.

Hi all,

Just an update. The NVC confirmed the case was sent to the consulate In my country on the 17th January. On the 22nd I received a letter from the London Embassy with instructions on how to prepare for medical and book the interview.

I have my medical booked for February 7th and my interview booked for the 22nd January.

Things really did speed up after the NVC

Roll on on the end of February!

lol Our dates are the same! :D They received ours on the 17th also, and my fiance's interview is also the 22nd :) Good luck to you!!

Håll ut, y'all.
