Applied for ROC and while waiting applied for naturalization. Would it delay my case?

So, I applied for ROC on November 2016. Lucky me, I had to apply at CSC and so as we know, they are taking like forever. On November 2017 or so, I became eligible to apply for naturalization, which I did, online. I read different things, about it and I would like to know what your experience was. Would the Naturalization be delayed even more, because of the ROC or when they work on both cases together it tends to go quicker?

Thanks!

It might delay, it might not. It all depends on your field office. You did right by filing for N-400. You are not alone on this path because many CSC applicants have filed for N-400 with pending I-751. Goodluck.

From the experiences reported in this forum, it seems that it works as follows:

-Once you file N-400, your I-751 file is redirected to the field office.

-At the field office, the N-400 is processed according to the N-400 timeline.

-You never get approval of the I-751 and go straight to citizenship interview/oath.

With a few exceptions, it seems that applying for N-400 will not make the I-751 faster but the opposite.

Portland Field office is currently taking 7 months to approve N400. If you filed in November 2017 in Portland, your N-400 will probably be approved 7 months later, or June 2018.

Your I-751, theoretically, will be approved in March 2018 (my I-751 took 500 days to be approved, so I apply that to Nov 2016) but since you applied for N-400, you will have to wait until June 2018 when your interview/oath happens.

Another data point, my ROC NOA is 1 Sep 2016 and I already got my 10 year green card beating many August 2016 filers that are still waiting but many of them applied for N-400 as well.
