Good Morning VJ!

 

What is the easiest/cheapest/smoothest way to transfer my wife's bank account from an Italian bank to a US bank legally?  How would it effect us tax wise?  Is it smarter to bring over a bit at a time?  Are there any tricks-of-the-trade we should be aware of?

We used Transferwise to send my husbands money in the UK to my account in the US.  It was easiest and best exchange rate that we found.  I am not sure how it will effect taxes, etc.  We transferred smaller amounts every week for a couple of months before he came over.
