Yesterday morning I awoke to a text message from my other half with the NVC reference number! Yay!! :jest:

Like an over exuberant puppy I phoned and booked my medical for 30th January.

Last night I tried to book my interview at the embassy and have found that this is arranged by the NVC.

My question is do I attend my medical on 30th Jan to speed things up, will the embassy keep my medical results if the paperwork hasn't reached them yet?

Or do I reschedule and await contact from the embassy?

Thank you in anticipation.

Congrats!

Did you register and use your fiances phone number on the USCIS website?

I would get your medical done ASAP as you wont get a decision on the visa until the embassy has your medical results.

If you are K1 like your profile says, nothing happens at NVC. You will book your own interview online. When your file reaches London, they will send you a letter. At some point you will be able to get into the interview system. Exactly how did you try to book an interview last night?

I couldn't - that's when I realised! So do I need to reschedule my medical?

No as long as you have what you need to take to the medical. Police certificate, completed immunisations, Heath summary from GP,  short written report by GP if you have now or had any diseases, conditions, surgeries in the past, take medications.

Yeah - have it all - was just worried the paperwork from the medical could get mislaid etc if it turns up at embassy with no case there?

If NVC has already given you a new LNDxxxxxxxxx case number then your case will be out of there soon and in London before your medical appointment.

Follow London's instructions in order https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/ for best results.

I wouldn't change your medical appointment.  Unless things have drastically changed in the last year, the embassy should receive your case in the next week or 2 and you will be able to get on and schedule your interview from the website.  I agree with the above though, go ahead and have your medical as it takes a few days to send the results to the embassy.  Better to be early than late.  :)  Good luck to you!

Also, just for fun.  You can track the packages from the NVC to the embassies.  I did this when our case was sent so I knew exactly when the package arrived at the embassy with our case in it.

Got this info from an old post on here but it still works.  For the shipper reference, you would just change the date until you find the packages going out.  Or if you know when they are mailing your package you can use that date.  But, I would recommend checking next week each day and see if you find a package going to London.  That most likely will have your case in it.  :)

"I went to www.dhl.com clicked Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, on this page you add your search info..You change the day and month to what you think yours might have left NVC

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 18 JAN 2018A

* Date range for shipment - From: 15 - 01 - 2018

* Date range for shipment - To: 19 - 01 - 2018

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: London / You Choose your Country"

Try this to check the status of your file. https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Pick Immigrant IV because the Immigrant Visa Unit are the ones handling your case.
