Buenas,

I am a currant PCV in Panamá. I met my fiance when i first started service in 2016, we were friends for a year and started dating officially last March. We decided to file for the visa in Nov 2017 and have recived our NOA1. I am still in Panama and plan to leave in May, but seeing as i was a PCV for 2 years i dont have tax returns to submit for the affidavit. I was planning to leave mid-May to get a job and settle a bit before my fiance makes the jouney, but now im worried what if the inerview gets scheduled sooner than thought and I ahvent found a job that meets requirements? or worse yet still in the Peace Corps?

Anyone have any ideas on how strict the Panama office is on this?

I also don't have anyone who could qualify as a joint sponser

any help appriciated

You have plenty of time. She won’t be getting an interview until after the summer. You will have to find a job that will be enough to support her. You can still file taxes abroad. You’re gonna have to get in touch with the irs to see what your situation is.

You also have to show residence in the United States.

okay, I just heard that the interview was faster but that was from someone who went through the process 10 years ago.

I also heard all documents ie: police reports, birth certificate, certificate of soltero all have to be translated anyone got any ideas?

Also anyone know how early you can get the documents that are needed for the interview?  I would prefer to do everything before i left for the US but don't want it to expire?

My fiance speaks little english, is the interview in spanish? I don't want to abandon him to go to an interview not in spanish!

sorry lots of questions
