My wife's N-400 has been active since 3/7/17. Updated on 4/17 /17 to In Line for Interview. 317 days ago they received and accepted  her n-400 application. Seattle office backlogged is no excuse to get a interview for a lousy 15 minute interview. I contacted our local representative and his office has sent an inquiry which could take another month. Should I request an info pass? Thanks for your assistance.

Unfortunately there’s nothing you or anyone can do to speed up processing so you just have no option but to wait it out. Seattle is taking between 10 and 12 months to process N 400. There’s a monstrous nationwide backlog right now affecting all service centers with nearly all immigration petitions. Some of us who filed to remove conditions at CSC have been waiting for 13 months now and they’re still stuck at August 2016. That’s just to give you an idea how bad it is.

Adjustment of Status From F-1 Visa.

8/14/2014: Mailed AOS package: I-130, I-485, I-765.

8/18/2014: Accepted in Chicago. Transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

8/25/2014: Received biometrics in mail. Scheduled for 9/8/2014

9/24/2014: EAD approved. 36 Days!

10/01/2014: EAD mailed.

10/03/2014: Received EAD card.

10/14/2014: I-485 moved to testing and interview.

1/28/2015: Interview scheduled for 3/4/2015.

1/31/2015: Received interview notice.

3/4/2015: Interview completed and APPROVED!

12/02/2017: Mailed N 400 to Phoenix, AZ Lockbox. (I-751 still pending)

12/05/2017: Package delivered in Phoenix, AZ. Transferred to Harrisonburg Processing Center.

12/07/2017: Notice of action issued. (IOE)

12/26/2017: Biometrics.

01/23/2019: Interview Scheduled for 2/27/2019.

02/27/2019: Joint I-751/N-400 interview. N-400 recommended for approval.

I’d like to hear status updates when you get them. We’re out of Seattle also and have been waiting since May. Hope to hear something in the next six months or so.

I will do my best.  Still waiting for that interview letter with the date.  Again, they received our N400 on 3/7/17 and last update was In Line for Interview on 4/17/17.  Everyone is saying the Seattle Field Office is really backlogged.  But, what's frustrating about this is then if the business is that good, why dont they hire more Officers to do this job??  I did contact my local Representative and they did an inquiry for us, and it came back the same, still within normal processing times.   My Representative said if nothing happens within the next month they will contact them again.  It is so frustrating to be going on 11 months just to get a 15 minute interview.   Anyways susysteele, good luck and as soon as we get that interview date letter I will let you know.   Dont know when you applied, but try not to be like us and very frustrated.  When they received our N400 we were pretty confident that within 5-6 months my wife would be a citizen, but did not turn out that way.  At least you have advanced warning on how long it might take you.   Good Luck.    Ron

Thanks, Ron, for the info. Looks like we’re about two months behind you. We got the receipt notice May 4th, did Biometrics May 30th, got the in line for interview in June 26th and then nothing since then. We too anticipated about 6 months total but are still waiting patiently. We even had a baby in November, thinking we’d hoped to have the Citizeship done first, but oh well. Hoping to travel internationally this summer but would really feel better having that U.S. passport first. Best of luck to you as well.

I understand, but still does not ease the frustration. USCIS is just like any other business or corporation, if business is that good and they are that backlogged that is not a good reason, they should be hiring more immigration officers to handle the load.  No ands ifs or buts that's what any successful business would do. A business would not tell a customer I can't accept your business because we are to busy, they would lose that customer, and we are the USCIS customer.
