Have we changed the way we measure unemployment since Trump complained about it being fake? Or are they just suddenly magically accurate now?

 

Honestly I think the real number is far far higher. I've heard 20%. Even 25%. One person told me 40%

 

I think we have 40% unemployment right now.

I heard 100%, or is that just Democrat wishful thinking?  It is interesting as to how the mainstream media ignored the other numbers to make one president look good, but the other president doesn't get the same treatment.  No media bias....Right?

Which question? The "wishful thinking" question? You'd have to ask your source that told you 100%. I haven't heard that.

Just to be clear the "other numbers" are what exactly? The numbers that Trump made up when he said 20%? 

 

It should be pretty obvious why they would be ignored... I don't see any mainstream media outlets touting them now that he is President though. Is CNN reporting unemployment in the teens right now? 

 

The only group that seems to be "flip flopping" on this issue are Trump and his supporters. They claim horrible unemployment rates until Trump takes office then suddenly those same numbers look great.

I don't speak for "the Dems" but I don't recall reading anything that suggests that they want everyone to be dependent. I also don't recall reading anyone claiming unemployment is or should be 100%.

 

I do know that. I'm just pointing it out in this instance because it is relevant to the original topic. Trump and his fans are celebrating numbers using the very same methods that Trump once claimed was bogus.  It's called being hypocritical.

To my knowledge, the only time the numbers were changed (or more accurately, how unemployment was defined), was under Obama.  Not sure why that change happened, but it discounted a LOT of unemployed folks and falsely lowered the unemployment rates. 

 

I look at the worst ones given, and add another 1.5-2% to them, because there are people who quit or are fired and never go to an unemployment office to “be counted”.
