AOS - 4 certified copies of marriage certificate vs just one and 3 c

We are about to file my wife's AOS soon. We have read differently on different sites and her friend told her something different as well and we are confused. I know it costs like $20 per certified copy of a marriage certificate. Did you guys send in a total of 4 certified copies or just one and three at home made copies? 

 

Also we are married and her i94(I believe it's called) has expired. I guess some people get married and adjust status before the 90 days but we did not. We got married in 60 days but she has been here 5 months. 

On the 18 page AOS form it asks for current status.. It says (example: overstay) would she be considered overstay?

wow, are you kidding me with $20 per certified copy? have you actually checked or is this hearsay? where i live, a certified marriage certificate is 20 cents only!

 

i cannot say for sure what is a foolproof way, but for my AOS, i submitted 3 certified copies (one each for AOS/EAD/AP). my EAD has been approved and i did not receive any RFIEs or RFEs.

 

yes, your wife has incurred an overstay. day 91 until the date you receive your AOS NOA1 is an overstay as far as I know (others can correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is definitely $20 each. I guess I will go ahead and pay for them :/

. I believe you are right about the overstay, I just wanted  to make sure we are filling out the paperwork correctly. From my understanding it doesn't matter that she is considered overstay and their will be no difference. Is this true?

wow geez $20 is a rip-off!!! maybe check if copies CAN work? but if i were in your shoes, i would just suck it up and pay the $20 for my peace of mind so that i will not have sleepless nights wondering if perhaps the copies will give me an RFE.

i have read an overstay is forgiven for USC spouses but don't quote me on this because i myself did wonder about this, in relation to traveling out and coming back on AP with an overstay. perhaps more experienced members can chime in.

In California I had to pay $15/copy. I wouldnt recommend to copy it yourself as it say it has to be certified.

The status is " K1 visa holder adjusting status"   you do not enter "overstay" where it asks for current status.
Yes, overstay is forgiven for a K1 holder who married withing the 90 days and is late filing.

 

Send one certified copy for AOS and a copy of a certified copy to each EAD and AP. Not sure why you said 4.

Why would you need to send 2 certificates for the EAD?

You and others here were so helpful. I was very confused and now feel confident about my questions. Thank you for fixing the '' overstay'' concern as well.. I will enter k1 visa holder adjusting status

But i765 and i131 are both EAD. Everyone I have spoken to have sent only one certificate for their i485, i765 and i131. 
Where does it state that you need one for i765 and one for i131?

I-765 is for work authorization ( EAD )
I-131 is for Authorized Tracel / Advanced Parole  (AP )

Usually the combo card is issued with both on one card but sometimes they issue an EAD card without AP and send AP in the form of
a letter. I don't know why USCIS does what they do.

As I said many get by with just 1 MC for the AOS package, but it is much safer to include a simple copy of the certified 
MC with EAD and with the AP form.

The reason I am asking is because I have never heard of this. I just followed USCIS instruction and that said one certificate (with the i485).
It didnt say in the instructions for i131 and i765 that a certificate was needed. 

I have also never heard of anyone getting a RFE for not including a certificate with i765 and i131.
