Hello,

For those who have finished their interview in Montreal for the k1 Fiance Visa, which birth certificate of the petitioner's did they ask for? I have the short form at home but perhaps they require the long form one with the name of parents on it?

Thanks.

As far as I know its the long form as it has to have the name of your parents on it. In Manitoba all we have is the long form so I had no problem with that one. But I think a few were ok with the short form it might depend on the officer. I personally would not take the chance and would make sure I had the long form.

I did not need to bring my husband's original birth certificate to the interview. Just a heads up a copy is okay but long form is always best.
