hello everyone and good morning.

i just have a question if you can help me understand please.

i am a k1 fiance visa seeker, i received my NOA1 nearly three months ago 08 November 2017.  the USCIS California centre is processing the cases received on Juin 2017, but on the top of their page  it says:  Field Office Processing Dates for California Service Center as of: October 31, 2017

does it mean the last update they have put on the website is dating from October 31, 2017  ?

does anyone know how they process and does anyone know if it means that,  the next update can bring closer date to my case to be processed ?

Thank you.

Yes, the processing chart from USCIS for CSC was last updated on Oct. 31st, 2017.

The I-129F is typically taking ~6-7 months on average right now. They seem to be hitting July 2017 filers right now.

The entire process is taking about 9-12 months from I-129F filing to embassy interview.

I suggest joining the thread for Nov 2017 filers:

Just a suggestion, don't waste a lot of time trying to figure out when CSC might actually get to your case.  As I have heard, the K1s are taking 6-8 months right now to get to NOA2.

Yes, that means as of Oct 31st they are processing petitions from June 1st. I have found that they are absolutely horrible with updating the list. They say that they update every month around the 15th but it’s far from accurate. I received my NOA1 on July 5th and still have not heard anything. I was hoping by extrapolating the dates that they would have been processing mine in November, but no such luck. I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say this process is extremely frustrating. Good luck

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Good morning,

Its bogus I guess they randomly process these petitions because I have been seeing member of later dates than mines get approved. So there's no exact time as when they process them. I am a K1 petition June 14 NOA 1 and I am still waiting its 217 days already.. Have patience and good luck..

I think they generally start processing cases in the order they arrive.  However, all cases are not equal, and all human processors are not equal.

I do not believe such. Because how can they receive a petition that is a later date than mines makes no sense. A June 23 get approved before June 14. So that is where my randomness came in! And I do understand not all cases are the same with you on that one 🤣 ..

I don't pretend to know how USCIS is run, but in a similar job that I used to work at, we would all be assigned cases as they came in.

So for example, the 10 people in my office would be assigned the 30 cases (3 each) the day they came in. The cases would go on the top of your existing workload, whatever it was.

And then depending on how quickly you work, how high your workload already is, any major events (like an expedite request, system problems, escalations that need to go to a higher up, unexpected sick leave, planned time off etc) and a bunch of other factors would depend on how long it took to get through things.    Some people in my office got through things quicker - be it because they were less thorough or took less time off or whatever. Some people were slower because they were 1-finger typists, read every single thing several times before making a decision or were always calling in sick so their workload just kept getting bigger.

If they're run the same as that job was, then I can totally understand the fact that some later petitions are getting done sooner than some earlier ones.

Agreed. Plus, sometimes things get delayed (verification of a document, background checks, etc.). They don't just sit around waiting for those to come back...they move on to the next case and shelve it.
